Default overeating with the sleeve Help!

I think, I know I over ate tonight. What does it feel like? I am hurting in my upper stomach like crazy, feels worse that major heart burn. Took Tums, what else can you do?

I have felt this pain, but mine was from not chewing well enough and I had food stuck for a few minutes. The only thing you can do is to let it pass. If it persists longer than an hour, and you are still in terrible pain, you can either try to throw it up (gross, I know) or go to the ER. Drinking fluids or eating anything is not going to help, it will just add more pressure. Tums isn't going to help you either unless you start getting acid reflux into the esophagus. Sorry to hear you are going through this, not fun. Hopefully though, this is the last time this will happen for you.

Yep, unfortunately Merebrilliance is right....you will just have to let it pass....I have done that a couple times too...trust me you will learn fast, it is not comfortable....But other than throwing up nothing helps, just takes an hour or so to pass...

    Sorry...good luck

Happened to me a lot during the 2-3 months once I started eating normal food. Felt like I was being stabbed in the chest or back. It could be from eating to fast or even bites that are to big or not chewed enough. If your sure it's not one of these reasons and it keeps happening check your surgeon. It could just be acid reflux and they might be able to give you Protonix or something like that. Once I took that for a couple months I was fine and no problems since.

I still have that happen especially if I eat a bit fast. It is a learning process for sure:-)

Agreed that it's a learning process. At first I would eat too much and I would throw it back up immediately. Not a nice experience. Then it would just sit and I would usually get in my bed if that was at all possible and wait for it to pass. These days if I overeat (which is rare, but I've been eating less and less lately so sometimes I still overdo) I grab my coworker and we walk around the building for a while. It doesn't make it go away totally, but it does help.

The only time I throw up these days is if I try a new food and my stomach says "NO!"

One word of advice from my own history: If you've got that leadden feeling in your stomach don't drink water on top of it. That water will come back up and then lump will still be in your sleeve.

I was better when I went to bed, now this morning after a few sips of coffee it is hurting again really bad. I was fine until I started eating solid food. I thought this was over last night. Thanks for telling me how I am going to have to slow down.

If it continues to hurt "really bad" you need to call your surgeons office.
