Hair loss over year and a half later??

Any sleevers who had surgery over a year or more ago still experiencing hair loss? I am still experiencing this (not all the time tho) but it scares me that it will continue. I take 10,000 mcg Biotin, vitamins, lots of protein, water. Very frustrated

the hair loss happens in response to the weight loss because the body thinks the rapid loss is a result of some sort of famine so it shuts down non vital functions such as hair production. Thus for it to be related to the weight loss one would think you are still losing which doesnt appear to be the case. looks you are already below goal. unless your body is stuck thinking its still in famine, which who knows if thats possible, then it must be something else. I'm curious to see if anyone else has experienced this because in theory it shouldnt happen.

My hair used to be one of my best features---Now I have male pattern baldness. I purchased a wig. I'll be a year out this coming month. I've done everything..high protein, hair skin AND nail vitamins, biotin, sheng fa, zinc, daily multi vitamins, washing hair less frequently, I eat 1500-1600 cal per day. I consider myself to be really at goal I have nice musculature and can justify the 8 extra pounds. Would I do the surgery again? Hell yes!!

I am still losing actually, maybe a pound a week or less. I have also started washing my hair less. I had taken zinc but, lemme tell ya, that cleaned me right out every time! sorry, TMI. I did not know that about shutting down non-essential functions like that Marvinator. I still eat very little, but numerous times a day. I, too, Goestogym, would do this again in a heartbeat! thanks for the responses!

Thyroid and stress will cause hair loss. Have you had your thyroid checked? Try taking Sheng Fa, its a Chinese herb I got at Amazon took one pill 2x a day am/pm and it got me thru my 4-6 mo hair loss.

I do have hypothyroid and have been on medication for that for years now. Has anyone ever heard of or used Ovation Cell Therapy? I keep hearing ads for this and am considering it. sounds a tad expensive, so if anyone has used it, good or bad, I would love to hear from you!

My hair is still falling out after thirteen months. I have done everything that has been suggested. I just hope it stops before it gets any thinner. I think it happens because we can only hold so much when eating. We are told to make sure to eat the protein first. I hardly ever drink milk and hardly can get in two serving of vegetables per day.

Thanks Teresa61, I think what you said about only being able to hold so much rings very true! Just recently I have been using a leave-in strengthener/conditioner called "It's a 10". I have noticed a marked drop in hair loss. It strengthens, prevents breakage, etc. I looked at the bottle and cant figure out who manufactures it, but it looks like it is working! I hardly ever drink milk either, but I loved cheese, especially cottage cheese, which is loaded with protein. I drink V8 to get my veggies in.
