I was at the gym today and purchased a protein shake. We asked the person who made the shakes what kind of protein was used and he said vanilla, he said that unfavored just tasted nasty when mixed. He said it just adds a little sweetness, unflavored he suggested using with soups.

Unflavored is good in soups and eggs and yogurt... I didn't like it in my smoothies or shakes. I prefered a flavored protein powder for that.. my favorite Isopure Banana Creme powder and a half of a banana and half a cup of skim milk with some sugar free Torani syrup... Yummy!

I use Syntrax Nectar unflavored in fruit flavored smoothies. I haven't tried it in anything else.

Unflavored Bariatric Advantage isn't good in soups...yuck. Beneprotein works well, but not as high in protein.

If you go to Bariatric Surgery Diet Foods and Vitamins for a Gastric Bypass Diet and dial the number on the site, ask for their free samples, and be sure to mention you'd like to receive some free Syntrax Nectar samples, they will send it to you for free.

I have used unflavored Unjury in tomato soup. I bought it at Unjury.com. There was a hint of flavor or maybe it was smell. But it was not enough to make me not want to eat it. If you are looking for a savory choice Unjury also has a chicken broth flavor. I think it is ok but my husband thinks it is delicious. They have a sample pack for like 20 ish. They also have cheese flavor but it doesn't come in the sample pack.

So far if you can put unflavored in hot stuff. At least with Unjury you must keep the temp below 140 because the protein gets gross if you put it in and the temp is above that. It clumps up and gels. I think that is true with most protein but I do not have that personal expierence. I do know that the Unjury sample pack comes with a liquid thermometer but they are only a few dollars at Walmart. Sometimes they are called candy thermometers.
