    Default Happy New Years Sleevers!!

2014!! A brand new year for brand new everything! I am excited. I am sure you all are too.

So today I am 8 days post op. Feeling kind of sluggish and hungry for something other that soup, popsicles, protein shakes, jello..... and anything else that I am required to consume during this time. I know its a mental thing. I get that completely. But it doesn't help how I feel. I want to chew on something. SMH.

I did this for a reason. I am so excited about what is ahead of me. God gave me this opportunity. He loved me that much. And I am grateful. I just want something good to eat. Thats all.

I felt the same way in the beginning...very sluggish and started getting depressed. I found that upping my vitamins helped a lot. I only drink Vitamin Water Zero now...it seemed to rejuvenate me. Another option would be to make a "thicker" canned soup (I chose macaroni & bean {Pasta E Fagioli} by Progresso) and I strained it. I couldn't stand broth and jello so this helped. I didn't do it all the time, just when I felt tired and headaches coming on.
Having the "broth" from this helped. I liked the taste plus it was a bit thicker. I was sure to only take down 4oz at a clip though.

It helps to grind up some ice and make like a snowcone with some crystal light. It helps with the want to chew.

Happy New Year to you also! I am sitting here in Maine (at -12 degrees this morning UGHH) watching television and seeing all the adds for diet plans for the New Year and I feel at peace. Like I accomplished something big although it my surgery isn't until the 13th. As you know it is a journey just to get to the surgery point. I wondered about the hunger after the sleeve. Congrats to you!

Happy New Year to You too! My doctor and nutritionist had us transition to food a little faster than yours apparently. By day 8 we were allowed to eat pureed foods and things like thin scrambled eggs. Hang in there is will be soon and I think the slower you go with the transition the better it will be for the weight loss.

Highest weight 440 lbs. lowest weight 9.5 lbs at birth
    Date of surgery weight 340
    12 week checkup 301 BMI <50 yeah!
Weight on birthday 3/24/48 Goal 285 would be nice.

Thank you so much for the responses. It makes it so much easier to get through the day to day on this life journey.
I'm definitely learning what I can tolerate and what I actually enjoy. I figured that it was easy to pack on the weight and I had no problems doing that. So I am going to have to work hard and stay committed to get it and keep it off. No I don't like chicken broth. And after this process I probably will never have it again. But for right now I will sip on it as I am eating my most favorite thing ever. I have going that the light progressos are pretty good. My fiancé had tried several times over the years to get me to try them and I refused. Do yep he loves reminding me of that.
Ok yes I am going on and on. Lol
Thank you all again and I look forward continuing with our connection!
