Taking in 800 calories a day, mostly protein shakes. Occasionally, I'll have s.f. jello or some broth. Anybody else know about how much weight I should expect to lose before next Thursday? Thanks for your help & good luck to everyone. Everyday is a new day! Excited to get my life back....
I lost 22 pounds with my pre-op, however, I think the losing is the side-event so to speak. You're really trying to prepare your body for surgery and that means shrinking the liver as much as you can. Even though I lost so much weight, the Dr's commented that my liver was still quite large. I told them I stuck pretty close to the diet and imagine how big it was to begin with!

I asked our patient coordinator how many calories I should be concentrating on - she said to not worry about the calories and just concentrate on the 40-60 grams of protein a day. I was doing 90-130 easy.

Awww, morphine is supposed to be our friend, that sucks to have had a bad reaction to it. What did they end up giving you for the pain?
Well, here we are, sleeved! I will look forward to your ticker moving down... and hope mine does too! HUGS!

We were told by the surgeon that women should concentrate on getting 40-60 grams a day of protein. He said to watch your urine, if it starts getting dark, you're not getting enough water. That's simple and a good way to gauge what your body needs! Sounds like you are right on track!

Monique, they gave me something called Torondol? Within 15 minutes I was feeling so good! And all that drama and I had patch for nausea behind my ear too! Feeling much much better now. The only thing pinching are the incision sites. Hope everything went well for you in Mexico.

Try the pump 3 times total and I itch so badly I quit after that I started feeling better didn't want anymore of pain meds I really don't hurt at all. Now that I lost 8 lb my folds is on my cut hurt a little but I can handle it. Try purée tuna with mayo, pickle, green olives, eggs, it look like baby food and tastes alright not something I want all the time but it protein. Good Luck to all

Thank you Juliek! I thought I was going to be one of those sleevers that had a hard time for a few days and then it would be fine. As soon as the nurse put the torondol in my iv, I felt better almost immediately! Hope things are going well for you too!

Yes same here - I believe I heard the doctor say they actually have to sew the muscle under the skin which they don't do with the other incisions.

Did you have your surgery at Hospital Mi Doctors? I believe that is where Dr. Ortiz does his surgeries?

I have scheduled with Dr. Jacqueline Osuna at Tijuana, Mexico.

I'm flying into San Diego, 30 Jan, 2014 Thursday, and out Monday, 3 February 2014

I'm not sure is a liter me, is the same, mine was through Specialized Bariatrics, have you heard of them?

How are you doing. you were sleeved 6 days ago,

I'm getting ready , just 14 days until I travel there. I'm really anxious to get this over.

If you did go to Mi Doctors hospital can you let me know how it went?

And a little of what to expect?

Thank you and I wish you well.

I do need help with pre-Ops - Diet,
Am I supposed to be on shakes now,

and a protein and salad at night? I think that's it.
THey sent me a pdf file I need to read.

    Thank you and BEST WISHES

On day 3 of a stall and I went up half a lb. omg. I'm praying that it's because I made the stupid mistake of weighing myself at night and not because I ACTUALLY went up half a lb. I don't know how that would be possible considering I'm living on 1 egg a day and water. I swore I wouldn't become one of those people who gets obsessed with the scale but I'm currently losing that battle. Has anyone else had this happen? Should I re-weigh tomorrow morning with the hope it'll at least go back down to where I was stalled or should I just wait until next week?
