Very inspiring Kacie! Thanks for sharing!!! I am just 3 weeks post op and I joined the gym on Monday. I only ride the recumbent bike at this time, and just 3 miles. I haven't been cleared for exercising yet so I'm taking it really slow.

Well originally , after surgery it can actually cause severe damage to your brand new sleeve to drink soda... it can actually cause your incision to open up. After that's all properly healed the problem is more a gaseous one. I mean, I tried a single sip of soda once I had moved up to the soft foods stage and I had painful gas for two days from it. Not like your old style gotta-sneak-a-fart gas but actually excruciatingly painful gas. I couldn't eat anything for most of that time either although I stubbornly kept trying to drink water and bits of protein drink. It passed, and I was none the worse for wear, but it's not a feeling you'd wanna repeat.
I can't do diet anything. Aspartame gives me severe migraines so I never got the taste for crystal light or mio. But I've found that certain syntrax nectar flavors give me the feeling of drinking gatorade/koolaid while also helping me reach my protein goal for the day.
You ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frikkin awesome.
Don't ya love it? I feel fantastic. NO REGRETS.
IT'S BEEN ALMOST TEN YEARS NOW SINCE MY SURGERY. AND IM STILL GOING STRONG!!!!!!
