Just about 11 months out and 105 pounds down - 150.8 pounds!

Haven't been on this forum in so long...just wanted to check in. I was sleeved on 1/7/2013 and to date have lost 105 pounds (pre and post op) and am feeling amazing. I am so glad I had this surgery, it has changed my life so much, mostly for the better. I wanted to post a before and after for you so you could see the difference...

Can you give me an example of what you eat on a normal day. I want to be successful and wonder what people are eating after they get out of the soft phase. Also did you have any problems with thinning hair?

Hi Jessica - i didn't really have issues with my hair all that much - when i was in the shower and washing my hair i noticed more loss than usual but it was never anything noticable after my hair was dryed and styled. And it really has lessened to the point that it's normal now. For breakfast my go to is smoked salmon and string cheese with maybe some sugar free packed in water fruit (del monte). I might have some hard boiled eggs and string cheese, or a dunkin donuts wake up wrap. Sometimes weight watchers oatmeal. For lunch I like chicken breast strips with some low sodium veggies like beets or green beens (cold) or with baby carrots or apple slices. Also tuna with mayo (not overdoing the mayo) with cucumber strips - i love the string cheese so pretty much have it at twice a day. I also like Somersaults (sunflower seed and grain snacks) and Ostrim (jerky made with elk and/or ostrich, very lean and have potassium). I don't each much bread, rice or pasta, although i can tolerate it fine. I like Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Bars, 90-calorie brownies, lemon, or cinnamon bars, Quest Bars, METRX bars...and Nature' Valley has a dark chocolate and peanut butter bar that has 10 grams of protein that I like as well. Dinner is usually fish, chicken, pork, or steak, maybe 3 oz, and a veggie of some kind. Sometimes I drink protein drinks as a substitute for a meal, like GNC lean shakes - i like the taste and consistency. But i don't do it all the time b/c I don't feel like I'm "eating" when i have a shake and sometimes i am still hungry lol I hope this helps. Oh, I also like Godiva dark chocolate and sea salt bars - i eat a square or two for a treat so I don't deprive myself.

wow! you look amazing! and in a great amount of time. if you don't mind me asking, did you have any complications? and now that you're smaller do you have any problems with saggy skin? I am just a tad bit nervous about this surgery, and with the date approaching, i'm trying to ask all the questions I can! lol

Jay, I was lucky and did not suffer any complications. I went back to work at 5 weeks but could have gone back sooner...i just wanted to take my time, and be on a more "normal" stage of the diet when i went back. As for my skin, it's doing OK, but there's room for improvement. I would say i'm saggy...but the skin isn't perfectly smooth like I would like. I am going to give it another year of working out and going to the gym to see if it improves. I don't have any sores or issues like that so if i were to get plastics i'd have to pay out of pocket, which i don't see happening lol.

How often do you work out and what kind of work outs do you do? Did you have stalls? I'm in a stall now but my doctor says I'm not doing anything wrong. It's very frustrating. Any advice? Congrats to you!
