It's normal to be able to handle more food after several months, as all the swelling should have gone down. Up your veggie intake to take up that extra space. They have relatively few calories, and fiber. I missed eating veggies and fruits with my protein, and now (6 months out), I actually get to eat some!

The sleeve is a tool. It helps with portion control, but you have to make the right food choices. I think all of us struggle with that at times (I KNOW I do), but sticking with the plan and choosing healthy foods is fundamental. You can do it if you want it badly enough!

You will be able to get more in as time goes along. Just remember to eat proteins first. Don't drink water 30 mins to 1 hour before or after eating. Water will flush the foods through your system. You want that food to sit in your tummy longer for a fuller feeling and so you can absorb all your nutrients. We have a new FB group for Low Carbers. That is absolutely normal. 100% normal. If it makes you feel any better, I have found that I can eat about the same NOW as I could about 7 months after surgery. My capacity has not changed in over a year. Just make sure to fill up on dense protein FIRST and then eat the rest. It helps keep the calories down and keeps the full feeling longer.

    Starting BMI 2/3/2012 - 38
Goal BMI-24! REACHED and BELOW!! 10/2012 Current BMI 21.0!
The best goals reached are the ones hardest earned.
