Default Going on a weekend trip, 8 hour drive there and back. Need Snacks

My husband and I are going on a marriage retreat to San Antonio this weekend (fully funded by the Army!) Anyway, it's 8 hours there on Friday and 8 hours back on Monday. I am needing some ideas for snacks to take for the ride there and back. I highly doubt we will be able to have a cooler on the bus. I will be transitioning to soft foods this weekend, so any ideas would be lovely

What about baby food in those little jars? Just a thought.

Got to love those marriage retreats paid-for by the Army! =)
I went on a couple of those when I was married to military and at Ft. Bliss.

You must be feeling good if you are up to traveling and a retreat!
As far as soft foods that are portable- my first thoughts are things one would pack into school lunches - jello, puddings, peaches (chew really well?)
You can always stick to protein shakes or powders to mix into bottled water, etc.

You may not be able to take a cooler but they make purse-size insulated lunch bags that you could put reusable freezer packs in and then pack inside a bag or a larger purse.

My doc considers crackers to be soft foods, so maybe some crackers and peanut butter, that actually went down REALLY well for my daughter and I. I would check out the cooler because that would make things WAY easier. Cottage cheese, applesauce stuff like that if cooler is allowed.

Otherwise you could bring a ziploc bag with premeasured dry protien shake in it and add to a water bottle.
God gave us people to love and things to use, not things to love and people to use.
