    Unhappy Vile Bile

Okay I'm just over 4 weeks out and I have been doing so well. No acid reflux, no vomit or nausea. Tonight I was silly and pushed my little sleeve too far. I tried a few bites of garlic dough balls. Never again will I eat these or anything else dough based.
The pain was terrible, the gas hideous and then came the bile....
1 hour later I am lying here on my bed, still burping, bile still coming up.
I tell you it's a whole new life of healthier, more digestible food for us sleevers. Brain catch up with body faster please...

Did that the other night, never again. Mine was with Campbell's Onion Soup. No longer on my diet.

Unfortunately, it'd seems we are children again and must learn from our mistakes. LOL.

Early on I was tired and weak so I figured a homemade icecream shake would pick me up. Wrong! I ate too much and wow the pain and the vomitting was unbelievable.

Onions are no good either. Corner bakery potato soup sorry.

I get that with chicken. It is crazy, doesn't matter white, dark, moist or dry I get the instant foamies (bile) and have to just vomit it up. Then I feel fine.. and I don't eat chicken anymore. I stick to red meat which seems to digest just fine. I can do onions, wasabi, Tapatio, all the things you would think I couldn't but Chicken... Forget it!!

Wow! It's really weird the things we can eat and the things we can't! Who would think ice cream would be so bad? My milkshake experience was horrendous cramps that made me feel I was in labor again! I didn't throw up and I didn't have diarrhea for a long while. It just sat in my intestines and wreaked havoc for a couple of hours!! Red meat is a little heavy. I had salmon today and it was steamed and soft but made my stomach feel horrible. So no more Salmon. I don't do breads. Had some mushrooms with the salmon and they didn't do well either. Crossed off my list too. All in all, most things are doing good just learning along the way. Fortunately, I haven't had to throw up it's always went the other way!

I read on one of the other threads that it was suggested to one gal by her surgeon, to take the PPI's (whichever one you prefer, mine is generic OTC prilosec) "just in case". Also, the small amount of acid in our stomachs can mimic "hunger" pains. So, I have started taking one a day, even tho I would not have thought I had an acid problem. I do believe the false hunger pangs are going away.

Today begins day 6 postop. Overall, the experience hasn't been terrible, except for the bile.....and it's getting worse. Every morning I wake up with the taste of bile, the smell of bile. Everything is getting a bitter after-taste. Smells are too strong. And this morning I woke up feeling I had a throat full of bile. Jumped out of bed and vomited for the first time - not fun. I have been taking Pepcid complete but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. I am calling my doc first thing Monday morning. This has to stop.
