Default NSV'S and a new issue

I have good NSV'S - my bra is way too big for me. My skinny jeans are baggy. I RAN and I didn't feel stupid about it. I've lost inches everywhere and I like the way my knees look now!

    But, I have an issue...

Most people who are overweight/obese have high blood pressure. Mine finally raised to a normal level. Now, that I'm losing, my BP is lowering again! Dagnabit. Last night I was nauseous, this morning while taking a shower I nearly fainted. All color drained from my face and it was all I could do to wrap my robe around me and get to my bed and lay down. Dripping wet. I had to ask my 5yo daughter for help. I know what I need to do to get it up but, it was just kind of frustrating. Especially since it hit so fast. I suppose low BP is my normal. poo. Good thing I love salty foods.
    1st Goal - get to 170 by Sept 8th - I got close at 178.

NOPE! First real stall that lasted a week. Ended 9/24 at 173. It's all good. Wait....nope. Still going.

Passed 170 and straight to 169 on 10/9/13

    2nd Goal - get to 150 by December 1st - got to 156...close, I'm not complaining.

So close...Now I have to wait for baby in January!

Congrats on all your NSVs. Some people just have naturally low blood pressure and need to take meds for it. No shame there - you do what your body needs. My pdoc had a rny ages ago and she's been on pressers ever since.

I had the same thing happen to me, and my doctor figured it out. I had a very specific form of hypotension, rare in most people but it happens to sleevers.

If you ever have "gastric dumping" (i.e. stomach contents dumped prematurely into your intestines...your intestines have to work overtime to process the food. Your body sends more blood to your midriff because your digestive system has an unexpectedly high load. Less blood circulation to head and extremities (not unlike shock) and you feel faint. This is especially triggered by doing a lot of standing after eating, or taking hot showers (vasodilation). In my case, I'd eat breakfast quickly and jump in the shower. Bad combination.

This makes sense for me now! Maybe not years ago but, certainly now. I even got a bit clammy. And one of the episodes happened directly after a shower! I didn't think I was going to make it through the shower. I just got a robe on and laid down until it passed.

Thank you! I think this will change how and when I eat.
