Hello I am new to the forum. My gastric sleeve is scheduled for Nov. 20. I am excited but at the same time I am very nervous about the procedure. Praying all goes well.

I had mine on Monday Oct. 14th. I have no regrets so far. the first 3 days are terrible but now on day 6 I feel pretty good. I was very scared too. I don't remember being wheeled into surgery or out of it. Just waking up in my own room. You will be fine. I've lost 11 pounds since last Monday.
That is very normal! Best of luck to you
Matt, You are not much different than many of us. It is normal to be a little nervous about surgery. I would be more concerned if I didnt have a little nerves before the procedure. For me it was not as bad as I expected it to be. I only took the pain meds in the hospital once intentionally and once by accident. When I got home I had to take the medicine the first night to lay down but the second night the second pillow behind me helped alot. I was able to drive four days after my procedure because I was off pain meds and could completely turn at the waist. I returned offshore in 12 days. I pray that you have the same speedy recovery.
Matt, I'm a month since surgery and I'm so happy I did it. I waited about a week to drive. It took me about 3 days to start feeling ok, but I'm not great with anesthetic. I found I had a lot of pressure in my chest (like burp pain). Make sure you grab GasX strips, the one you put on your tongue, they help a lot. Don't rush yourself to recover, walk as much as you can and rest as much as you can. This is a journey, you'll do great. I'll pray for you, I know that people were praying for me and I felt God's presence through it all.
Wishing you the best on your upcoming surgery. It'll be here before you know it.
