Default Help - 3 month update from someone!

My daughter is getting married in 3 months. I am a little nervous about what it will be like at the wedding. I am only on day 6 now, and because I am not eating etc. I am just hoping it will be a more "normal" day for me. Will I be able to eat what everyone else is eating? Will i be able to have a glass of wine? What should i watch or becareful of? Will i still be sore? A little nervous......

I am 5 days shy of 3 months and I eat EVERYTHING (in moderation). Unless you have any little quirks with your pouch, you should be able to eat most foods. I've had no problems eating new foods, I go slow and try them at home first in case it doesn't agree with me. Just test out an at home version of her menu at home and then you will know if you are good to go or not. Besides the portion control and weightloss, I really don't feel like much has changed since my surgery. Everything is pretty much back to normal and I'm adjusted to this new way of eating very well. I hope you can say the same when you are at 3 months. As for wine, I've had a glass or 2 and I am still alive! Good luck!

You will be busy enjoying the moment and mingling with your guests, don't worry about the food part!

Look at the wedding as a fellowship and celebration and not with the focus and definitely the wine.

At 3 months I could eat most things I have tried. Boiled eggs and shrimp can be iffy for me. I have had a few bites of b'day cake, but did not push it. I was worried what too much sugar and fat would do in my digestive system. I have had a few sips of wine and that was okay. I am waiting till goal to have a full glass, but I will drink a sip or 2 from someone else's glass. I had a few sips of champagne and that burned in my tummy. I would say avoid that or do fake or teeny tiny sips for toasting. I think you will do great that day! I think the scariest part will be guessing what size dress to buy! Best wishes for the wedding!

I am a little past my 3 month point and can eat just about anything. My focus would be more on my dress and the much smaller size it will be. Either way, have fun.

Whatever you do, if something doesn't feel going down, do not continue to eat or drink it to be social! What works today may not work tomorrow, and you don't want to end up spending your daughters special day running for the bathroom!

Alcohol still is very warm in my belly, so I would recommend that you take very small sips to make sure you don't have any issues. On the food, you should be fine as long as you remember portion control and take small bites. I ate whatever I wanted at that time, it only bothered me if I forgot my stomach is smaller.

I agree with those comments above. I'm only 2 months (a little over) and I'm slowly adding small amounts of new foods every day or two. So far everything has gone well except for some strong coffee one day. Enjoy the day and have a wonderful celebration! Good luck sizing your dress! ;-)

It's really what we don't want to hear...EVERYBODY'S DIFFERENT...lol...you will learn in the next 3 months what YOU can and cannot tolerate, the portions will efinitely take some getting used to, but you learn (sometimes the HARD way), but you will be fine---to parrot what others have said---make the day about the socializing and the joy---the food and drinks are totally secondary from now on---I have made a new "hobby" out of watching what other people eat...it's weird but it's fun at times! Good Luck and congratulations on your daughter's wedding!

I would recommend trying some of the food at home before hand if you can - don't force anything down, if it doesn't feel good stop eating it- and if you decide to partake in a drink or two be very careful, you get tipsy much faster than pre-surgery You may want to get a dress that is of a more stretchy fabric and wait as long as you can before you buy it because you will be shrinking pretty quickly in the next few months.
