BOUGIE SIZE HELP! 46F anyone??!

Also in the thread is the size of each bougie in mm and inches. Very little difference between the sizes.

My Dr used a 40 as well, less risk of stricture and leaking. Like Lee says, if you are eating dense protein (chicken, fish, beef, etc) you get really uncomfortable, really fast. Carbs and the like go down really easy and quite pain free...STAY AWAY FROM THE CARBS!! It is a slippery slope and once you start back on them it is so hard to stop. Always, always, protein first and then fill in with a few bites of veggies, after that, there should be NO room for anything else.

mine's a 36.....little over 2 mths out and can only eat 2-4 oz at a time. I'm the same as Fawn...I have to eat all day to get 800-1000 cals in.

I am a 36 and very happy with it. I can eat about 4 ounces a little more on occasion. My doctor said he does 36 because of the possible complications if it is any smaller. I think it depends on your doctor and his opinion on complications and the size of your stomach.

I am also a size 36 and I can only eat 2oz a sitting at 2 months out. I literally have to eat all day to get my calories in. It can be a little exhausting at times.

I ask my surgeon what size of bougie he was going to use.. I was told a 38 French Bougie.. My surgery is the 17th of October, 4"11, HW 205, CW 195 GW 120

Mine is a 32 and so glad it is small. Had no problems. I did a lot of research on this subject and that is why I picked my Doctor. I wanted it small so I could eat small meals all day. It has worked beautiful for me. Almost at goal weight at 7 months. But just saying it worked for me. I'm not giving advice. I love my new me.
