Can we talk about sex?

Ok sometimes this topic is taboo BUT a friend of mine lost significant weight and said his sex drive is through the roof. I am 37 and not disinterested but certainly don't have the libido I once did. Maybe I have just fallen into a rut but I miss that part of me.

Any experience with this?

A lot of people I know that had this surgery (myself included) have alll said it has either gone through the roof or felt they had more of an urge to. Hop that helps

I am almost 30 and since I have ALWAYS been very heavy I have never really had a drive. I was not disinterested but not really look for it either, Kinda like you. For years my husband and I have joked (he is also in the process of loosing A LOT of weight like me) that I twinkied my sex drive to death. I really thought that with having lost almost 50 lbs that it would start to return but it hasn't just yet. Between my husband and myself we have lost 135 lbs (80 of it his) and we "got together" for the first time in a while the other day and I found it much more enjoyable as it was much easier. I am really looking forward to having "skinny sex" in the coming year. You're not alone in this issue but Ive been told not to worry that it will come back. I have been told to do kegels to help with the blood flow.You can always talk to you OB or PCP also. Good luck to you

I think it gets more fun. you feel more energy... I don't know for men but for a woman I feels like I have alot more sex drive and I feel happier... Its hard to explain. I can move better and I feel sexier too. I bought a dress (xl) and it FIT!!! We had a good night and even afterwards I said " so I guess you liked my new dress" lol I think it was more me feeling good about myself and even feeling like I looked good in a dress.

I'm sure it was there before but I was hiding myself because I didn't feel sexy. Hint I never buy dresses because I have or HAD big legs. Does that make sense??? lol

Right now, I want to say it is DEAD! My mind is so preoccupied on making sure I am doing the right thing- and my head hits the pillow the moment I hit the bed- since eating less- less energy. I am hopeful that eventually with the weight loss , adjustment and feeling more self confident things will change. But currently a lot of adjustment- Even in bed!

I agree that it has SOOO much to do with our self esteem and feeling comfortable "doing it". My poor husband thinks my lack of desire is his fault but that is so far from the truth. I love him dearly but it is very uncomfortable at this size, how can I possibly enjoy it? I'm hoping the pleasure returns!
