Scheduling my Plastics for next yr in November- Any suggestions on who to use?

Hi there, I am getting ready to schedule all of my skin removal and I need some advice. I don't know which Doctor to use. I have seen several of you post about different plastic surgeons and I don't want to be someones guinea pig. Please help me to make a decision on a good plastic surgeon. Less isn't always best....

Well, you could email MsVeteran who works with a PS in Mexico, the drs I trust and like results from right now are Pantoja, Gongora, and Cardenas. All are in Tiajana except Gongora, who is in Rosarita, Mexico.

Realself.com has a lot of info on these doctors as well, and people even go to the Dominican Republic, easier for people who live on the East Coast.

Terrie, you could also check out locally. I'm in Madison, WI, not too far from you depending upon where you are in Iowa. I am paying $7400 for an extended abdominoplasty at the University of Wisconsin -- this was my middle quote but I chose based upon reputation. The lowest quote in TJ was $4K and then you add in hotel, airfare, recovery center, etc....and it isn't much cheaper. Now, if you are getting more than the tummy done it is definitely going to be much cheaper in TJ.

Dee has done EXTENSIVE research and is really in touch with the market, so I trust her recommendations explicitly.

Dr Quinones at Cosmed in Tijuana. He won't rush you out - the Marriot is a gorgeous place to stay, they have shuttles to and from the clinic. I had complications with Mr Neibles that - though they weren't entirely his fault he abandoned me when I wanted to have the implants totally removed so I could heal. This is a battle since 99 from a mastectomy and two reconstructions that just refused to close so I was an infected mess with my implant bulging out through a hole in my breast for 4 months. I wanted him to just take them out and he refused to touch me again even though he did the two other surgeries. If and when I go get smaller implants put back in I will go to Dr Q. Plus Niebles has a translator and speaks no English himself. In hindsight I should have gone to someone who speaks English

LOL Just do what a friend and I who both ride threatened to do. Have the American Flag tattooed on the loose arm skin and that way it's always flapping in the wind when we ride.

I did get some kind of exciting news the other day... kinda sorta not sure yet BUT about 4 months ago as I sat here dealing with a hold the size of a coffee cup (yep, really) in my breast due to complications that Dr Niebles left me hanging with I sent a fax to a prominent well known plastic surgeon in California. I faxed pictures and a history of my issues starting with the mastectomy in 1999 til May when I ha to finally have the implants removed and a mastectomy on the right side. Well he replied to me right away back then and asked questions but I never heard from him again. Until i got a call the other day from the producers of a reality TV show that is starting soon about plastic surgeries gone wrong. They are talking to me about casting me for the show and fixing my breasts for free! Hmm I wonder if I would be pushing my luck by asking for a tummy tuck and facelift while they are at it? lol Time will tell, not getting my hopes up and been dealing with this mastectomy since 1999 so I can deal a little longer.
