7 weeks out and only lost 30 pounds. I am 50 years old. Does age affect weight loss? I am concerned and thought I would have lost more by now. Anyone have any advice?
Slow? I think you are doing awesome with your weight loss! If I estimated right, you are loosing a lil over 4lbs a week! We are weighing about the same and even if we lost 10lbs a month, that would be incredible. That would mean meeting our goal weight in 5 more months! Come on now, you've got to admit that's pretty darn good!
Congratulations on you lose.

You'll stall many times in the process. Your body has to catch up to new way of eating. It also has to trust you. Your weight loss is fabulous. You also had less to lose compared to others who seem to lose more quickly. I think age does make a difference. I am a slower than slow loser. 1 year post and I have only loss a little over 40 pounds post surgery, the rest came pre surgery. Just stay focused.
My PCP made a comment the other day that made me think. He said that he anticipates me losing more weight in the next couple months even faster since my metabolism will be speeding up as it catches up to my weight loss and the added activity level I will be able to add as I become smaller. I am 9 weeks out and I am down 36 pounds, so you are doing really well for 7 weeks out. Keep in mind that you are starting at a lower weight than many on this site so whatever weight you are losing and how much time it takes for you is your unique timeline.
