Default FOOD- good news for newbies like me:)

One of the biggest concerns I had pre-surgery had to do with enjoying food. I didn't want to continue to eat at the rate I was and be as big as I was, but I also didn't want to stop my enjoyment of food. Food can be wonderful, as long as you've got a grip! I definitely lost my grip (hence the surgery), but I couldn't quit food forever!

SO, I am only one person and my experience may well not mimic anyone else's. But I am pleased to report to those of you who wonder what it might be like post-surgery- in these early days I still love good food AND I can eat a very small amount and feel full and satiated.

My surgeon used that word (satiated) several times yesterday when we met. He feels it's important to have that feeling of fullness and to eat more than protein shakes and yogurt.

Everyone is so different and I do understand if anyone says to themselves, NO- not going to have it ever again. Heck, I give you a TON of credit! I just knew I couldn't do that, but I can choose healthier foods that still taste great and with the sleeve I can feel satiated.

For dinner tonight I had one egg, a tiny amount of cheese and a tiny amount of ground ham all rolled into an omelet. All the good tastes were still there and I enjoyed the heck out of that egg but all I needed was ONE

Such a huge relief to me. Pre-sleeve, I would have also loved the taste of my little omelet, but I surely wouldn't have had one and been satisfied

So great to hear that! That is something I worried about too. For me it is the volume of food I eat at one time. Not always necessarily bad unhealthy foods, it just seems as if I do not get full. So I am just thrilled to hear that news from you. Go girl! I hope it ends up that way for me too!

I'm sure it will work that way for you too. We'll just have a tiny stomach that says no when it is time

having had this surgery (march 15th) getting used to portion control is the hard part to this. I find I have head hunger more so than being hungry, I know it sounds weird, but you get used to eating large portions and when you sit down with family and friends you find that its a bit sad at times, no being able to eat all kinds at a single setting. Making the protein the focus of what I put into my body it gets a tad bit boring.....

That is GREAT news. My husband and I are having our sleeve's on August 17 and he is only afraid because he loves to eat when he is bored. Me too. So this is the best news yet. Thanks.

You can only eat so much and if I remotely feel hungry but it's not time to eat, Crystal Lite does the trick!

Thanks for that good info. We both love Crystal Light and drink loads of it everyday. I like the orange, but is it ok or too acidic?
