Follow up visits??

How long after surgery do you all go back for follow up visits? My surgery was Jan. 10th and I haven't had any problems. The office left a message for me to change my September appointment. I don't see why any more visits are necessary. Opinions please!!

My doctor made me sign an agreement saying I would follow up at 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year post-op. I just did my 1 week this morning.

For the first year especially followup visits are very important! You need labs checked to make sure there is nothing going on that you are unaware of and also the dr. asks about a lot of thing that I just assumed were a normal side effect that actually weren't! Plus it also helped to get reassurance that some of the stuff I was experiencing is normal!
