    Thumbs down I'm really sad

    Hi
I'm still hungry, I'm eating about 700 calories. I'm getting a lot of protein in, but gaining weight !! I'm so sad, I know I'm not eating not nearly or caring about what I used too. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong Please let me know

    Thanks,
    Kate

I'm sorry to hear that's happening to you. I read some fellow sleevers have that happen to them too.

Hi, you are only 13 days out...many people experience a small gain initially. I see you say you are at 700 calories..That is a bit high. I was told to be at 4-500 the first month or so. I think I was at 700 around month 5. I am still under 1000. check with your doc in regards to where you should be.

Sorry I am not much help, but that was my experience, good luck and peace

keep doing what you are suppose to. Your body has to adjust. You have put it through a really big shock. Don't give up and keep to the program.

Just what the others said, your body is in shock and you will have ups and downs. It is actually normal - it means your body is regulating itself properly. Make sure you getting lots of water too this will help. Water and Protein are the tops right now!

This first month is a challenge for me as well. I'm just now getting on board of logging intake and protein and exercise. Have you been doing that to just "make sure" you're in line w/your plan? If I don't write it down, I'm prone to forget a little of this and a little of that. My doctor's recommendations were actually 800-1200 cals per day total, a min of 75-100 gms protein per day and less than 10 g sugar per meal.... spaced out thru day. On a sustained plan, there is sometimes (depending on one's body) such a thing as not eating enough. Could this possibly be a problem? I'm 5' 10", the cal requirements for me are going to be different than say for someone 5' 2". I truly believe that as your body adjusts, it will get with the program. Tues is my 3 week post op and I'm down 24 lbs since surgery. This will work for you ... it will! You're just adjusting ....

And never think you shouldn't talk to a counselor or psychotherapist. We all need help at different stressful times in our life. This is a big life change. Help us out there if you feel you need it. Hugz

My first 3 weeks were difficult. From week 2 -3 I was in a stall. When I went to my 3 week post op apt I even cried because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Just like everyone else said, they told me my body was still in shock and it is very normal not to lose or even gain a little.
