Default 1st Stall and only 2 weeks out

Okay, so I know everybody gets tired of hearing about stalls and everybody experiences them, But I am beginning to get a little discouraged and would like some feedback.

I have not lost any weight at all in one week. Is it because I had my period? Maybe it is because I am only averaging 400 to 500 cal a day?

This Thursday will be my three week surgiversary. I just feel like I should be losing more weight for the amount of calories I'm taking in.

Thanks for any feedback- all will be appreciated!

i was sleeved on 6/18 I'd lost 6 pounds on my pre-op after surgery I lost 11 pounds in 8 days this was my first post op appointment and only 5 pounds since. I had a check up at 2 weeks and 1 day and the Doc said I was right on track with my loss of 21 pounds on the day of the appointment. I don't think any of us should compare ourselves to others.....I think the more weight you have on your body at the time of your surgery it seems to come off quicker initially but than those that were less heavy at the time of surgery (I'm basing this by what I've seen on this site). I am stalled as well but I try to keep positive about it maybe a slower loss will result in less sagging I know you'll get there and I will too our bodies are just adjusting

You've answered your own question. It could be your period, it could be your body being in shock at low calories, it could be your body being in shock post-surgery. You will lose weight in time. Stop looking at the scales and focus on the fact that your body needs you to be careful with it while it is healing. At this stage you won't get in more calories so stop worrying. This is a long-term solution, not a fad diet. It doesn't matter if you don't lose weight every day or every week. Relax and take care of yourself.

There are a number of reasons for the stalls, but the important thing is they go away. Don't worry about it. It will come off in the end.

I can appreciate the frustration! I was on TPN (nutrition via IV) for six weeks!!! If you're not familiar, this pumps LOTS of calories into you and is designed to avoid weight loss. Even though my doc tried to lower the calories for me, as a result, I'm only down 26 lbs in 3 months. I'm forever seeing people who have lost 55 lbs. and more by now.

I just take a deep breath and remember that we are all on our own unique journeys, and it isn't how fast we get there so much as that we stay there.

Thank you so much! I always tell my mom not to worry. practice what we preach, right? Thank you so much for the encouragement and bringing me back to reality. I love this site! I am probably nervous because I just got laid off and have to interview today. Not as a person who has lost some weight, but still as a fat person. Anyways, I am blessed to have this surgery, this supportive site, and an interview!

Like the ones above me said..everyone is different..by my two week check up I had lost 21 lbs, at my 1 month checkup by then it was only 23 lbs, I go for my 2 month this coming Thursday checkup and so far I've lost 32 lbs..Slower is better anyways..my doctor told me that the first two weeks after surgery usually weight loss will slow down to about 1- 2 lbs a week. He said my body is probably fighting the weight loss~but that eventually it will give in...so, be patient..It will pick back up...after my two week checkup I upped my protein as much as I could (considering it's hard to eat what we are supposed to) and I've been walking on a treadmill 3x a week for 3 weeks now~seems to be helping..
    Good luck!

I was sleeved on 6/17 and in the first two weeks I lost about 15 lbs. in the In the two weeks since I have lost about 5 lbs - and for one whole week - which was my third week, the scale stayed the same. I think we just need to adjust our focus and ensure we have proper perpective. I keep reminding myself I didn't gain the weight overnight and therefore I will not lose it overnight.

Thanks to all the replied here. I lost 35 quick pounds and nothing for at least a week but can see the changes inches lost so frustrated but happy. The stall has caused me to over exercise and that has lead to being very tired. Adjusting to this new life and body. Still really really glad I have done this.

I know your pain! I was there but the scale will move again..I had like a three week stall. then dropped 15lbs..now stalled again. I tried not to compare but many people I know are losing faster than me. I try to watch my intake of food and make sure I get enough protein but I still stall. Anyway..i prefer to tone up as a go along and not have hanging skin...so use the time to strengthen when u are back to speed and it will come off. Be encouraged!

I'm 25 days post op now. Same story. Lost a lot in the first 14 days and now much slower. I have lost many inches though and attribute this to muscle gain (due to high protein intake) and fat loss due to low calory intake...

I am sure everyone is unique, and will have stalls and gains differently from others.

Now where did I hide that piece of apple pie again....?
