Sleeved for year and a half

I've now been sleeved for over a year and a half. I've lost 75 pounds (298 to 223), but still have not reached my goal weight. Currently making a new push to reach it. I've accomplished everything else I had wished for with the sleeve. I was on blood pressure and cholesterol meds before sleeve, and I've now been off of both for well over a year. I also had a lot of joint pain which is now mostly gone. Next stop......goal weight!

Awesome! I have been sleeved for 34 days and looking forward to being a year and a half out. One of my big goals is to run a 1/2 marathon before I turn 50, which is August 2014. Good luck in hitting your goal weight. You've got this!

I think your success so far is awesome. What is your goal if you dont mind me asking. I am about 6 weeks post op, so I am still crawling on this journey. I already have been able to drop the diabetes medicine which is a main reason for doing this. Keep up the good work and I am sure that you can achieve the goal if you are commited to it.

I'm about 13 months out from my sleeve right now and a few pounds from my goal weight. I wish you all the best with wanting to reach your goal. I think right now I'm enjoying being able to eat what I want, still following the rules most of the time...and being able to basically, without real effort...maintain my weight loss. That's like a dream come true for this woman!
I wouldn't mind breaking through that though and getting to about 150 which is a few below my goal weight. We'll see what happens...but this has been an awesome journey.

Hope you make your goal weight - but like you say it's so great all the fantastic NSVs you've achieved as a result of the surgery. I feel the same - the exact number on the scale is not nearly as important as the health and quality of life outcomes. I think I'll still get there, but at the same time I want to always notice all the positives as well.

Great Job! It is really important you are off those meds. I was on 3 BP meds, now down to one and only half of that one. I am rid of my cholesterol med and no longer take daily celebrex for my back. I reached my goal in 7 months, it took total dedication to my eating plan. I always focused on lean proteins first, then veggies and fruit. I am now experiencing what it's like to be at or below goal and staying there. I am sure with your renewed push towards goal you will make it. Proteins first, stay hydrated and active, you will get there. By the way, may I ask how tall you are, I am 6ft 2in.
