How long did anyone's journey last from the beginning (talking to Dr) to when the surgery was performed? Is it really 6 months? Thank you.
My journey was 2 years from the time I decided to have the surgery to the date of my surgery. My surgeon doesn't do a liquid pre-diet and I wanted to take the time to lose the weight that had to come off on my own ... so I could learn a better relationship with food.
From the time I got to my goal weight to the date of my surgery was just about 2 months.
Mine was a total of 9 months.
Couldn't fit all the doctor appts in the 3 months that I wanted to do it in, and doctor switched facilities that time so i had to wait.
Two months. I went to the seminar end of April and I'm having surgery in two days. I am sure this isn't typical, but my insurance changes next Friday and I knew my current insurance would cover. It took a lot of planning, phone calls, persuasive speeches to people to get my appointments in fast, and an awesome doctor who worked so hard to get the paperwork all in so that I could get approved quickly. I owe my GP hugely! He moved mountains to help me get this done. Good luck!
I'm self pay so it was about... 1.5 months from booking to surgery date.
Straight forward. Straight facts. Whether you like the truth or not... I'm not made of sugar coating

I have waited over a year from the time I went to my first orientation, then waited for 12 weeks of classes to begin, then waited for the psyche eval, surgeon eval and medical clearance, lab tests, and then waited months for a date which I finally have. Its been a journey, it seems to go faster if you dont have to jump through insurance hoops.
