Stupid TV commercial advocating LapBand over Sleeve

Are you kidding me? I just saw a commercial with a man who had lap band surgery...who claimed it was better than the sleeve. There is NO WAY I EVER wanted a lap band or bypass...and I love my sleeve! Why are they doing this??? I guess I am just annoyed...

Funded by the manufacturers to try and win back some of the market they are losing I would guess. Grrrrrr, money winning out over truth (again).

Since there are lots of people having band to sleeve revisions, and I've not heard of anyone doing it the other way, I think evidence is not on their side.

Time will tell. And I guess it's our job to keep spreading the word about how good this is.

I had he band in 2007. An it worked for a while and I lost 70 pounds but I was always growing up sick struck and embarrassed at business meals. M family was use to my band drama was so glad when I got it out and now I have the sleeve only two weeks but no drama like he band I wouldn't recommend the band to antone my daughter still has it but I think she will remov it soon

I keep hearing more horror stories with the band slipping and eroding into the stomach... This happened to one of my friends a few weeks ago.... Complications are possible with anything... I knew from the start that the band was not a choice for me.... Like any procedure, I guess it is a personal choice....

The company is trying to drum up business for the gastric band since the surgery is cheaper than the sleeve. I have heard too many horror stories about the band.....sleeve all the way.

My surgeon told me that the band is pretty much on it's way out!! Not to say that it hasn't helped a lot of people but that there are better options now.

I had the band and 2 years out it slipped and I couldn't keep anything down. The sleeve is my last chance. I have gained back almost all of the weight lost on the band especially after my hysterectomy .
