One week ago today!!!

Oh my goodness.......I can't believe that it has only been a week since my surgery!! I can already feel a difference in my clothes and how they look. I am still taking it easy but I am getting around well. Today I went shopping (only 2 small stores) with my daughter. I have had no trouble getting all of my protein and liquids in. Yesterday I could sleep on my side with the help of a pillow. I have begun eating very soft foods with good results. I still have my stitches and will have for another week. I thought I had gotten rid of all my gas until today. Still have some to get rid of!! I haven't posted my weight loss yet because I want the official weigh in from my doctor but I am very happy with what is going on. I hate my chew-able vitamins ugh!!! So I am going to go get some chew-able Centrum next time I go to the store. The best part of all this is I am beginning to learn about myself and the triggers that set me off. I am committed to a new way of eating and cooking. I want to thank everyone on this site for the questions they post and the answers given!!! I went into this process with no support and found you guys it made the difference in my life to get through this process. I was a self pay and so glad to find a doctor who could help me but he is 4 hours away. I needed people around me and that is you guys!!!!! Thank you for always being there for me!!! I want to be there for you!!!

Hey Kelli ... So glad to hear you are doing great ... Congrats!!!! You may want to hold off on the chewables ... I was allowed omeprazole pills from the start and my surgeon switched my vitamins to Centrum Silver (or similar) at one week. I have had no trouble taking them. The only chewable I take is Unjury "China Free" calcium ... Love te taste Look forward to your next update .... Cheers

I guess my doctor is little less stringent on this. I have been on full liquids since day 3 but he wanted me mixing in pureed and if that went well to move on to very very soft food. I have mainly kept to the liquid side of this and complimented it with scrambled egg (which went well for me) and some very
well chewed thin turkey deli meat (1/2 slice). It has worked well but I am very cautious about what I am going to eat.....I prefer most of my protein from the liquid side which I believe is his intent. He just wants me to try 1 food at a time and around week 3 I can begin tougher foods. My first pureed foods and still are is baby food (fruit). You can get all kinds of fruit flavors with no sugar added. Good luck with your diet!!

It sounds like you have just started your journey. Keep reading the posts and replies it will help you greatly with making your decision. Most importantly while you are trying to decide be very very honest with your inner self. Best of wishes to you and your future decision!!

Kelli, You are my new hero. What astounding progress you are making!! I don't have my surgery scheduled yet but I have been to the first consultation (3hours) and my insurance has approved it so I know I am on my way on this adventure. I just hope my experience is anything like yours. I am praying all the time to make the changes I need to. I know God answers prayers because it's happened before so I think I'm good

Glad you're doing so well! I too am doing alright. I tried a scrambled egg yesterday. It took me an hour to get it in which is probably not okay, but I was so full all night! I'm finding at night time that I have to add the days calories and protein and i'm falling short. I usually end up adding another protein shake to fulfill my goals. I'm averaging about a pound a day loss. I can't decide if that's good or not? Talk to you soon!
