    Default Pain level

I am kind of a baby when it comes to pain but committed to putting on my big girl panties and working my way through the post op pain. Question is does anyone who has had the surgery have a low pain tolerance? I just feel like hearing what I am up against will help me be prepared for what to expect. I would like to hear from a fellow "pain sissy" such as myself about what the first couple weeks after surgery are truly like.

Yes, it hurt more that I expected it to and especially after I woke up from surgery. The important thing is to continue taking your pain meds when you get home and stay ahead of it. I took my pain meds for 3 days after surgery. BUT, you will get thru it, each day gets easier, and the pain will soon become a distant memory. Some things are worth the pain. I have no regrets. If I can get thru it, you can too. Take care!

Post-op was the worst few weeks of my life, *BUT* pain meds work well, almost too well...and the way I feel now makes it totally worth the discomfort.

But like they said, some people have no pain at all! Just some Tylenol and they're fine.

But me...I needed and enjoyed the Hydrocodone. Good stuff that.

I am a big baby and to me it wasnt that bad. The pain meds workd well. I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago, so I kind of knew what to expect. I am 7 days post op and have been off my pain meds for 3 days.

I am only 19 yrs. old and have the LOWEST pain tolerance in the world. The most painful part was the gas pains, so just make sure you walk walk walk & they will go away. Don't be afraid to ask your doc/nurse to change your meds if you don't think they're helping you. Private msg me if you have any other questions!! Good luck!
If I can do it at 19, you can do it at 90

I'm a totaly baby when it comes to pain. The pain wasn't horrible. It was the sick feeling from the pain meds that got me. I felt really sick for a few days.. you'll be fine though it was tolerable

I actually have a high tolerance for pain but the surgery-site soreness was very discomforting once I awoke from surgery. However, I felt like it was all mental because the second I was out of the hospital, I was driving to the mall running errands the next morning. Its very slight discomfort and I never touched any pain meds they gave me. But, I did take the Prilosec religiously.
