Exclamation Questions about the largest incision!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Danielle and this is my first post. I am exactly 7 days post op.... feeling better..... 18lbs lost already.... day 4 without Pain Meds ..... everything is going well.... but.... the largest incision is still a problem. Post-Op it was sewed in because they attach it to the muscle leaving my stomach looking lopsided. Today i get up and its not sunk in on the left anymore. This is only Day 7 and idk if that's normal. I'm not worried because other than tenderness to the area and a little soreness, i'm not in any other discomfort.

    Does anyone have similar stories?
    Any advice?
P.S. I was very active yesterday because there was a function at my house.... so I wonder if I pushed myself too far

Thankyou in advance for your replies.

    -Danielle

If your doc used dissolving stitches, it could be that it was just time for the incision area to let go of the underlying muscle. It could be that you overdid it a bit, but as long as there's no sign of new bleeding or localized swelling, there's probably no harm done. The leftmost incision is the one that the stapler goes in through, and the excised stomach comes out through, so it's not at all abnormal for it to heal differently than the others.

All that said, I'd call the doc's office for peace of mind's sake, if it were me. Better to be safe than sorry!

My largest incision leaves a divit when im in the sitting position. If im standing you can see how it dips inward. The surgeon's office can't explain it. It actually pisses me off that it does it. Other then that, the other incisions are healing fine, one though seems to have a large mass towards the corner under the skin.

Mine did that too. It was explained to me that it was because the doctor put a really tight stitch there. Plus, even though it may seem not to be the cases, your abdomen is actually quite swollen. As the swelling goes down, this looks more "normal." If you have any questions, concerns or signs of a problem, it is probably good to check in with your doc. Happy healing!

Well the one incision that had a mass in it seems to have gone down. I was rolling around with my 9 month old and felt a stabbing pain and a pop from it. I think it might have been a small cyst and it popped. Its slightly bruised but doesn't hurt.
