Crazy but exciting day!!

Hi all,

When I say this was a CRAZY day, I mean it. My day started out great but by 12:00 EST it turned into helter shelter!!! My surgeon's office left me a voice message to call them ASAP. Not knowing what to expect, I'm being told that my surgery date is being changed from July 11th to June 20th....Whoa! I was told that I needed to change my appointments I had set up for my cardiac and medical clearances. The reason for the change is because my Neurosurgeon said he has to be in the operating room when the surgery is being performed because he has to remove my catheter that runs from my stomach to my brain before the sleeve surgery can be performed and his calendar is pretty packed for July....OK...I understand all of that but to have to run around and change my other appointments was the trip. After making frantic calls all afternoon, I was able get the appointments changed but not before my Pre-Admission Testing is done which is scheduled for Monday. Now, I thought I had some time to get myself accustomed to the pre-op diet but I was told to start it tomorrow and I should be following stage 2 of the post-op diet.....no full liquid diet for me!

Well I'm not sure if I should say congrats or I'm sorry! I think CONGRATS are in order here. It sounds like you have been planning this for some time so may be more ready than you think. Best of luck

That's great news! For me, I'd be so busy taking care of preop appointments and preparing my home and family for after care, that I wouldn't have time to sit and think about chewable food so I'd appreciate the liquid diet's ease!
