Braunschweiger craving.. really?!

I'm one week post op today (woohooo!) and I am craving like no other craving something I haven't made or had in years.. braunschweiger pate. I convinced my daughter that she really needed to eat it since it had been years since I made it.. God love her, she fell for it! Here's the recipe and one of the first things to go into my mouth after my last liquid phase:

A fancy name for the recipe..

Bavarian Spread

8 oz pkg oscar meyer braunschweiger
8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 pkg Lipton's Onion Soup mix
dash of worcestershire sauce

Cream all ingredients together.. enjoy on your favorite gluten free, lowfat, high fiber cracker!

My palate is immensely bored with my limited menu choice and I don't even get my beloved salads with balsmic dressing right now. Making menus of all the wonderful things I want to make for my next food phase, pureed/mushie and soft foods! I love to cook and will have the summer off to chisel out the new me!

Oh my goodness that sounds delicious and amazing. Thanks so much for the recipe! Be careful about the crackers, though - make sure you don't take on that kind of stuff too soon.

No worries.. I won't be adding crackers into my food repertoire until I'm back on an unrestricted diet.. August 22nd!

I had the same craving about three weeks after surgery. I hadnt had that stuff in years. Great sorce of protein though. As for crackers the pepridge farm baked naturals would be a nice compliment and there are 25 in a 120 serving. With small tummies this means a serving is closer to five, so low cal and a pretty nice cracker over all
