New here.... Day 6 of Pre-Op.... 9 days to go!

Hello everyone,

I've been reading your posts and I must say I'm overjoyed to read all of the success, trials, obstacles and victories!

The first 4 days of my pre-op were ROUGH to say the least! I'm now on day 6 with NO CHEATS! Yay! But MAN ON MAN have I wanted to! Especially after reading that some people had NO pre-op diet restriction or maybe just a week. However, I decided to make this lifestyle change and I'm going to stick to it! I've lost almost 7 pounds in 6 days.... and let me tell you.... this has been a LONG holiday weekend! I LOVE WINE.... but after my last glass on Tuesday night, there is no looking back!

My daughter and her friend are still sleeping.... but I decided to make them breakfast. I already cooked the bacon and for a second...out of habit.... I almost grabbed a piece. The smell is lingering through the house, but I really don't even want it. Now I know I am ready for this. I was questioning myself the first few days.

Anyway, I'll be in Tijuana, Mexico and having my surgery performed by Ariel Ortiz on June 5th. I fly in to San Diego on June 4th. I was EXTREMELY nervous about the whole Mexico thing....but I think I have watched every video there is .... and I haven't found one bad review. I even met a girl here locally (after booking my appt.) that went there and she said it was the best care ever.

Welcome to the site. You will find loads of support and good advice here, but bottom line is do was instructed by YOUR team. We all have different directives by different Drs. We also come from different backgrounds and have different medical conditions so more the reason to follow the instructions we are given. Godspeed on your journey

That is great! I am having my surgery in 8 days and I start my liquid diet tomorrow, I am so ready to get this weight off! COngrats and good luck to you, I will look forward to seeing your progress!

I've been cooking the same stuff for my husband. Like you, out of habit, I amost grabbed a sausage.

I approached this much like when I quite smoking. I knew I was going to be around smokers so I didn't avoid them while quiting. I figured I had to be around normal food and people eating it so decided to just deal with it.

Hi Shannon. I am having the surgery with Dr. Ortiz too. My sister and I fly in on the 2nd and we are both having the surgery on June 3rd. The pre-op diet has definitely had it's challenges. For the long weekend, my family and I took a trip and stayed in a gorgeous hotel. It was sooo hard watching them eat whatever they wanted in restaurants, while I had to nibble on the most unappetizing salads! lol I can't wait to embark on this new chapter of my life!! Maybe we will cross paths while we are there. Anyways, best of luck to you on your journey.

Welcome to the site. I'm also having the surgery in Mexico. But am unsure of the doctor. I'm gathering info on another doctor and will weigh the pros and cons. I'm hoping to have mine mid-July, since I have to get my passport still.

Welcome! I am also a newbie to the group! My surgery is in August. I know it's going to be hard but we can do it!!!

Thanks everyone! So excited to hear how everyone is doing and how their surgery goes! Lisa....It would be great to meet with you and your sister .... I am going alone and will be there after you are sleeved. How long are you there for? Maybe meet up the night of the 4th in the hotel restaurant or something?
