drinking alcohol?

Thanks so much. I have done some research on carb friendly...and Tequila is my drink of choice....just have to watch whatever you mix it with. But there is a new sugar free drink mix available at Wal-mart that is Margarita flavored..and I love it. So my sister starts her vacation on Saturday and we are going to have one or two...WooHoo!

what is the name of the sugar free drink you found?????

Jess...it's at Wal-mart where they have the Crystal Lite drink mixes. It's the Great Value Brand...Margarita each pouch makes a 1/2 gallon. I love it....I get the flavor of a REAL Margarita...I haven't added the tequila to it yet, but I"m going too...next week..

Yes Drinking alochol is ok but be careful not only dose it hit you much faster its also loaded with empty calories.
I was a beer drinker but now drink greygoose vodka mixed with a V8 splash they very tasty and come in many diffrent flavors.
I recomend Greygoose cause I found it not to smell and have a strong vodka taste when mixing.

I've had mixed drinks (pina colada is my drink of choice). I only have 1 because the mixers are so high in carbs. They do hit you fast, but the buzz doesn't last very long. So sip slowly and enjoy.

I have had alcohol and it does hit me differently and faster. I keep my food log at myfitnesspal.com that way I know how many calories and carbs I am having to stay within my daily limits. Just like with food knowing your portions and limits is the best thing, start slow.

Hi there.
I do Crystal Light Lemonade and Blue UV. Its a perfect summer dring to enjoy. No calories in the Lemonade.
My second choice is Tequilia Sunrise. Like them both - less calories in the Crystal Light.

I have always been a Captain Morgan and Diet Rootbeer drinker - I dont miss it at all. To be honest, I have enjoyed being the Designated Driver - I thought I'd miss drinking - but I dont. I have not had a soda since the end of February 2011.

My new favorite summer drink is FUZE slenderize drinks (10 calories a bottle) mixed with Malibu Coconut or Banana Rum...the whole drink is 79 calories! I have noticed that if I indulge in a regular margarita or have a beer I gain a pound!!! It hurts to see that scale go in the wrong direction....Good luck and CHEERS!

I'm a crown and coke gal myself, and last weekend my hubby and I went to a charity event with an open bar. I can't recall how many of the little 5 oz dixie cup sized drinks I had, but with the ice and hard liquor there was no fizz, they went down smooth. I felt good but never "drunk", probably because it takes so long to drink one! LOL!

I also was scared to drink but had my first drink las weekend. I had a skinny margarita and it went down fine. Ok I had five of them. Just Kidding!!! I do recommend the skinny margaritas and mojitos. really low in calories.

My doc told me no alcohol for at least 6 months!

Hey I'm 9 weeks post-op and I tried alcohol for the first time last weekend, I agree with most other people, my first one went straight to my head, I have never been a big drinker to begin with but it used to still take me a lot to get drunk, so to feel tipsy after one vodka orange I was actually kind of happy (cheap night out now haha) It does take me a long time to drink a drink though, but that's with any drink really bar water which I sip constantly really throughout the day
Agaian same as everyone else I am sticking well away from fizzy drinks haven't touched one and I'm really proud with that as I used to drink between 5-10 cans of diet coke a day.

I've noticed a lot of you have said about wine, but I've noticed since my op I actually really don't enjoy wine and so far the only alcohol I have tried is vodka.
