    Default Stall

Has anyone experience a stall just 8 days post-op? I am not discouraged yet and still so excited, but I was just wondering if this is normal? I am doing exactly as the doctor ordered and I am getting all of my protein in daily. I am excited about my journey

I did. It scared the heck out of me. Trust me, it starts moving again! Here is my advice: journal and exercise. I kept doing this and it was what kept me sane in my stall phase. I kept telling myself there was no way I couldn't lose weight with the few calories I was putting in my body. It did move though. So hang in there!!!

Mine was 11 days post op. I've heard of a week. I think one reason may be because we had been on the preop diet and we've reached that spot where inches come off but not the weight. Yes, this makes sense to me too. If I had lived it I would never believe it. I didn't lose for three weeks but dropped a few sizes during this time. It was awesome. Once I figured it out that is. Another reason could be you lost so much the first week , I lost 16 lbs in ten days and my body had to stop and think about it I guess. Another reason is too many carbs. That will always stop ur weight loss. I'm not speaking out of expertise bc I had my panic over my stall but it really will start again. I couldn't stay off the scale once I stopped losing so I can't say don't watch it but either measure yurself or find something u want to get into, jeans or something and try it on every few days, it helped me to do this. I knew it was still working. We are so used to it not working that our fear takes over quickly. But it has to work, u would have to be sucking down some sugar for it to not work. I couldn't, but I hope u can try to relax. I heard somebody say one time, that a stall is the body having to stop and absorb the fat cells it emptied. Don't know if its true but I like it.

I am now 5 weeks post op and get on the scale on Mondays. This morning I was only down 1/2 lb. I'm not totally discouraged, but not happy either! I think its time to add more protein and water and of course exercise. I have done much exercising at all....

I'm in the same boat as Dana. I stalled at about 4 weeks and during that time, I went down 2 belt notches. So even tho' you may not be losing pounds, you may be losing inches. Or is it being distributed to other places? Like lean muscle? Maybe? Who knows? But it's pretty dang nice.

Thank you so much for all of the positive encouragement I am staying positive and know it will be a long road. I do know that I am so happy for my decision to have the surgery and so excited for my future.
I love talking to people who have had the sleeve and know what I am going through. Thanks again for all of the nice comments
