Default Anyone post sleeve that regrets their decission?

My surgery is tomorrow. I am excited but so scared at the same time. My last surgery ended badly but I know the risks are minimal with the sleeve. Just curious, I read about how happy everyone is after the surgery but is there anyone out these that just regrets that they did this? anyone miss food or their old life?

I regret not doing this years ago. I don't miss being type 2 diabetic, out of breath all the time and waddle with swollen feet at the end of a work day. I don't miss food because I eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm full, except now it's not after eating family size pizza plus beer plus cake. I do love shopping at Gap, Zara, Lacoste etc. instead of at The Hobo Flannel Sweatpants Co. I enjoy dating women who are not blind (joke) and jogging. Goodluck!

Ditto what Oz said.....I wish I had done this sooner. I feel 200% better both physically and mentally. My blood pressure is good WITHOUT the meds, I just stopped my acid reducer two days ago and I have been doing ok so far. Next is my cholesterol meds. I have so much more energy, do more things and I I finally love who I am . And I LOVE LOVE LOVE clothes shopping! I wish you all the best. Remember, in those first few post-op days, you may not feel so good and may say "why did I do this?". Just remember your final goal!! Good luck!!

You know what ...no I don't regret my decision because I'm 20 kilos down and that would of never happened otherwise !
But ...every now and then I go out to dinner or I see food that I really love and I go damn what have I done ...I have a mini freak out ...and then I look at my old wardrobe and pictures and I'm back to yeah baby this thing rocks !
It's quite hard to go from totally food addicted to ah I could take it or leave it...but I think I'm making it there ..slowly ...surely ...perhaps lol

You will have your good days and your bad days, as with anything in life. I am still in my learning and growing stage with my sleeve. I really can't say at this point that I am glowing happy. I also can't say that I am glad I had it done. But I think in time I will. But it hasn't been easy and I know after 54 years in life all good things are worth working for.

Nope. I've never regretted a single minute. Not one. I wish I had done this ten years ago.

Regardless of the discomfort (that dissipates daily) from the food choices, I have no regrets. Wish I had done this years ago. Would not hesitate doing it if I had to do it all over. I openly walk up to morbidly obese people trying so hard at the gym and share my successes. I pray they too may chose to do more about it.

Most of us all tried diets, working out and anything and everything with nothing more then short term successes. This is the only long term success tool I have found.

    NO REGRETS!

I feel the same as everyone else, my only regret is that I didn't have surgery 10 years ago. For me, it's been just over 9 months since surgery-I've lost 90 lbs, my bp is 90/60, cholesterol-normal, sleep apnea-gone and I feel great! I'm so happy I was able to have this surgery. There are times when I miss the thought of eating certain foods, but the desire passes quickly when I realize it's just food and that my body doesn't need it or want it. I eat healthy, exercise and feel like I'm finally living! Another thing I've noticed is my self-confidence has skyrocketed, I'm no longer worrying about being the "fat person" in the room and I can just be "me"!

I hated it the first few days, but was told to expect that. Now that I am at one month post-op, I love it. I still eat, but MUCH less and feel great about it. I can go out to eat and bring food home and have a meal the next THREE days. That has never happened before! I am walking thirty minutes a day and could keep going but my personal trainer wants me to only do thirty until my protein is above 64 grams. I am loving wearing old clothes that have not fit in three years. I love my hubby telling me how great I am doing on this journey. I could go on and on, but just remember that you WILL question your decision, but know that as everyday passes, it gets better. If you did not do this where will you be a year from now? Still a year older and still overweight. So don't look back and good luck tomorrow!

No regrets here NOW.. but I tell you what.. the first 3 weks were the hardest for me personally. 3 weeks on liquids can drive a person insane. I had a few days were I was depressed. And a few days.. where I could just slap the food out of someones hands if I saw them eating.. Strange, but especially sandwiches. Anyhow.. I just got cleared to start mushies.. and you never seen a happier girl eating a scrambled egg in your life. Im down 33 pounds and like everyone.. I only regret not doing this sooner! Best wishes for you tomorrow and the weeks to follow.. your going to do great!

Like the others, only regret not doing it sooner. That doesn't mean there weren't times, especially in those first few months, that I didn't think what the hell was I thinking. The first year is definitely a journey, emotional, hormonal, and all that fun stuff lol, but man is it worth it.

I don't know if your a mother, but if you are you know how hard labour and delivery is. The whole time your thinking this is insane! Why would anyone e
Do this more then once? And then you look into your newborns eyes and you know why. And the pain and the struggle fade and make way for a ever so rewarding love and purpose.

To me this is much the same, only this time your going to look in your own eyes, your going to see your own infinite possibilities, your own purpose, and self pride.

So yeah, the labour part can suck, if you use the tool correctly it can be like your diet epidural lol. You still have to do the work but it dulls the pain. So congrats, tomorrow you start labour . A year from now your going to be answering these threads just like the rest of us, in wonder and awe that this is what we laboured for. I promise
Hit first goal of 155 at 9.5 months. Setting new goal of 145 which is less then I've ever weighed in my adult life. Woo hoo!
Hit 2nd goal of 145 at 12 months. Room for 1 more goal, I want to be less then half the person I used to be which means 139
