Dent in belly after surgery !? will it go away ???

Hi there ! I just had my gastric sleeve done yesterday ! All is going well i just have a question where i have my inscions the biggest one is dented in . What could this be from? , have you ever expierienced it ? and does it go away??

This is so funny cause my wife was asking the same thing. Yes it will. Just the tightness from the stitches and all.

Yes. I'm three weeks post-op and my dents are almost gone. They were really noticeable at first.

Yup, I have mine as well.....1 week post op here, lol! Just think, that is where you want your entire front of your stomach to get to!

I thought I was disfigured ! One week post op here, and it has really gone down a lot, thank goodness. It did look really weird though

I was so upset when I saw my "dent" I was like WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF!!!!

LOL it does go away...the swelling doesnt go away as quick as you want it to though....

Totally normal. It is from a right internal stitch and also swelling. Should go away in a few weeks. I too had been scared!

I am glad that I am not the only that was very upset because of this big dent but I think it was gone in two weeks time.

Yes it will. I had one too for about 6 weeks or so. Its a retention suture(which dissolves over time) at the biggest sight that the Dr pulls the stomach out of. It was also the lap site that hurt the most after surgery too for me.

I also have a big dent above largest incision site but am experiencing sharp pain under the dent too - it has been a terrible day for it and I'm worried all is not well. 4 weeks out from surgery today - any advice?

I have a dent too and the incision is still tender 3 weeks post op. Because that's the largest incision and where the stomach was taken out it takes longer to heal. Maybe the dent will go away in time. If pain is really uncomfortable get hold of your doctor or the surgeon.
