AAAAAMENNNN~ Congratulations - your mental attitude towards your success shows here, it's refreshing to see after seeing a couple posts this week where folks only lost 6lb or gained back 60 lbs - we must ALL keep our heads in the game and participate mentally with this process and it WILL work for us. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!
There will always be risks, just getting in the car can be a risk. Recovery times are so different for everyone and the definitions of "recovery time"vary too.
I personally spent an extra day in the hospital... I was super cautious about being released too soon. This was also knowing I had my sister(aka nurse ratchet) as my only physical support and she is a workaholic. I did fairly well when i first got back home and i believe it was day 6 when it started to go bad... I was in extreme pain for a day and half, my sister's friend who is a nurse was like omg her skin is gray. I had a hard time breathing deep breaths not from a lung aspect, I had fluid on my liver and had to have a drain put in ...NOT FUN!!! I MEAN IT -NOT FUN!!! In the end it was just fluid and no infection. So in my opinion my start clock started over again when i had the drain taken out. Its been 2 yrs now and I can't remember exact dates and such but I know I posted about it. I am guessing my re-start date was 13-14 days post op which would make it the end of April. I went back to school the beginning of May (a couple weeks). I could do stuff but I would just tire easily. Each day I would get a little bit better kind,of like how towards summer you gain just a bit more daylight (very subtle) . I wish I would have done WLS earlier much earlier...I had looked into in 1.5-2 yrs earlier. Things work out for a reason...my insurance at the time would not have approve the sleeve and I didn't want the band nor the bypass. I was going to settle for the bypass but alas I didn't have too!!!!!
AMEN! What a great post to read as I go into my sixth week! Very inspiring and good to see you are happy!
I have already started saving for skin surgery.
How was the arm skin surgery? Painful? What was your recovery time?

I am just 3.5 weeks out and well the armlift was a breeze for me...thank goodness something was easy for me. I have been lurking on a few of the forums on armlifts and realize I am so far ahead of the pack!!!! I only needed help getting my bra strap over my shoulders during the 1st 6 days due to having drains. Eh my hair wasn't as clean in the beginning but i did it myself
I will have to post an official thread in the right forum soon...before i forget and start haveing fun in tanks and shorts sleeves again!!!
