I am only allowed to have clear liqiuds and atkins shakes for 2 weeks... It is really killing me.
My Doctor did the same with me, She felt it gave me more time to heal. I was drinking the Special K Choc Protein drinks.

You really don't want to "eat" anything at this stage, it is why they have you on clear liquids.. you can drink some broth, have popsicles, jello, - the broth used to satisfy me nicely, couldn't even finish half a cup - but it did the job! This is only for awhile, you can do this.. you don't want to eat something that will harm your stomach while it is trying to heal. Have patience, before long you'll be on soft foods Congrats on your surgery!!

Broth, protein shakes, jello, popsicles, tea..... In the 2nd week I had some blenderized cottage cheese as well

I pressed my luck and tried a nibble of "real" food. In the process of this ONE bite, I felt like I was going to choke to death. It was stuck! Then after that passed, my stomach and I felt miserable! Not with guilt, but pain to the point I thought I was going to have to call my surgeon and confess what I did. Be certain to get your liquids and protein in. I am struggling with this and I firmly believe that this is causing my slow healing process.
This too shall pass! (no pun intended)
