    Unhappy I've plateaued....any ideas

I've been in the 220s for the past year. In may it will be two years since my surgery. Time really flies. I try to exercise but my knees and back are still injured so I can't do what my mind wants me to do. I'm not eating that much these days. I've been so busy at work that I sometimes don't have time. Has anyone else got stuck in their weightloss?

    As always, thank you.

Being unable to exercise due to injury is rough. Have you considered a physical therapist to help get in a place where you can exercise?

I was going to suggest physical therapy, but Luke beat me to it. Most insurance plans cover visits at least in part, and your state or local health department may have some options if you are uninsured. If you don't have any of those options, I have a friend that is a physical therapist and he has non published rates for self pay people that are considerably lower.

You really need to eat regularly. Your body could be back into "starvation" mode. Think of your metabolism like a fire...if it's not "fed", it will go out. You should be consuming 3 meals and 2 "snacks"(of protein) daily. If you aren't very active, keep them to lower calories but you still need them. And I agree with Luke on physical therapy, it would be useful.

I'm with Lisa - try swimming! Full body workout, no impact, and it can be alot of fun. If you can't swim, maybe water aerobics, you have the choice of shallow or deep end. Some places are starting to offer water zumba too.

I was stuck at 340 for over a year (before sleeve), and it seemed like no matter what I did, the scale just wouldn't budge. At the suggestion of my osteopath, I tried a vegan diet for a while, which worked like a charm! The weight fell off me. After a couple weeks, I tried adding back eggs and dairy, with no problems. I had no desire to have poultry or meat anymore though, and I am apparently not a person who can properly digest them anyways. Not only did the weight come off, but my migraines stopped as well. Not trying to push a vegetarian or vegan diet, but maybe an appointment with an osteopath or naturopath will give you some insight, it's quite possible your body is reacting to something you're eating.

    Good luck!

I like all the suggestions above. I would have suggested water exercise or a stationary bike. I would have also suggested going back to basics, logging all of your food intake on an app such as Myfitnesspal. This way h=you can REALLY see how much you're consuming. Good luck.

You have to see how many calories you are eating and you need to figure out a way to burn calories.. There are exercises for injured people. you could tru increasing protein decreasing carbs and drink more water.. hope you figure it out. Good luck to you..

Nothing to add because you have been given great suggestions, many of which I would have suggested, especially water. Hang in there and just get back to basics.

Yes Jen I have been at 205 for a year! I also will be 2 years out in April...very frustrating no matter what I do scale is not moving...recently I had my Thyroid checked and maybe that's what it is - even if my # is within normal limits /for Kaiser/ it's not my "optimal" # to lose more weight. So , I know how you feel...take care
