    Default Stall for 4 months

I had WLS on July 1, 2012. I weighted 232 on surgery day. By Christmas I weighed 180. And had been battling the same pound back and forth for the last 4 months. What gives. I've increased my working out to 6-7 days a week from the 5 I was doing. I'm frustrated and need help or suggestions. What are you all eating in a day? Perhaps I'm taking in too many calories. Thoughts?

What are you eating? I have found that sometimes eating too FEW calories could do it too...especially if you're working out a lot, you want to make sure to eat enough. Which I understand sounds crazy, but there have been times where I have stalled because I didnt get enough calories in a day. Here is a decent example of what I usually eat...

Breakfast-a hard boiled egg or cooked egg with cheese

Lunch-Chili (about 1/2 cup) with lowfat shredded cheddar

    Snack: greek yogurt

Dinner-turkey burger with ketchup and mayo-no bun

Sometimes I will throw in a glass of skim milk too...and I try to drink 8 glasses of water daily as well. I make sure to work out at least 3 times a week, preferably more.

Daily. stay under 1000 calories. Drink protein shakes. 100 grams protein daily. 80 oz water daily. 20 grams carbs and 15 grams good fats .. Burn more calories then you eat in a day and it comes off.. Eat more and it doesnt.. go back to protein and stop working out for a week. Change things up.. Life weights and last of all.. If what your doing isnt working why wait four months? .. Change it up! Immediately.. good luck you.. Some of are slow losers.. Your not gaining so thats a really good sign..

I wrote the following post almost two months ago but nothing really has changed. You can click through to that thread for some more ideas and pictures, too:

    - After taking the kids to school, I will have a cup of coffee with Fat-Free creamer and Splenda
    - Whilst making the coffee, I also make a thermos carafe (1.5 litres) of herbal tea, 2 bags for the whole carafe
    - I now take the rest of my vitamins/pills. Herbal tea throughout the morning. If I go anywhere, I put it in a travel mug.
    - I don't usually have a morning snack.
    - Lunch is either a protein smoothie or part of a Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones. I generally only eat the protein and veggies of the frozen meal. By the time I finish those, I might have room for a bite of potato or two (why are all the frozen meals loaded with potatoes?) My smoothie is typically this: Into a Magic Bullet blender cup I put about 3/4 cup frozen mango (I eyeball the amount), 1/4 cup plain 2% greek yogurt (measured), 1 tbsp. sugar-free coconut syrup (measured), 3/4 scoop vanilla protein powder (I find 1 scoop way too yucky), and about 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (eyeballed). I blend for about a minute.
    - Herbal tea throughout the afternoon.
    - Afternoon snack is a pre-measured packet of beef jerky.
    - Dinner is a small side plate of whatever I make for the family. Today it will be pork and black bean stew. I eat the meat and beans first (probably about 2-3 tablespoons I guess), then I eat the veggies (about 1-2 tablespoons), and maybe I'll have room for a bite of potato but usually not.
    - Herbal tea throughout the evening
    - Evening is when I eat my snacks (I know this is "bad" but I've just accepted it as something I can't change. It is what it is.).
    - Piece of fruit with either nuts or cheese (depends on the fruit)
    - 1/2 cup (not measured) 2% Oikos Vanilla greek yogurt with blackberries (8 berries).

That's pretty much it. I use small things and that really helps. I use a teaspoon and salad fork, plus a small butter knife as my utensils. I use a side plate as my dinner plate. I use a ramekin as my bowl.

One thing you will have noticed is that I haven't mentioned exercise. I don't. My weight loss is steady and I don't want to mess with it so I'm holding off. It is in my future, but not at this time.

    I hope this helps.

Maybe try a 5 day sleeve test. You can search the blog for it. Essentially it starts day on clear liquids and works through the process. Supposedly should kick in the weight loss all over.

I'm in the same boat! I log everything and I work out 6-7 days a week. I don't go over more than 1000 calories a day, 100g of protein, 20g of carbs and 15 g of good fat. My weight has been the same for the last 4 months as well! I am just as frustrated!!

Ladies, ditto for me as well! I have been at the same weight since December, but I'm down to a size 8. I figure that I must be losing inches...

Hopefully, things will get better for us soon!

My weight has also been about the same in the last few months and I actually gained a few pounds over Christmas. I have found that it is very difficult for me to lose weight in the cold weather. My body refuses to let go of the fat. I had to really cut down the calories. So maybe it is the winter that has caused the problem.

Last winter I just had surgery, so it really doesn't count. And last winter was milder than this winter.
