Has anyone had this pain?

I was sleeved Tuesday. Gas pains are much better but now I have a sharp pain below my left breast about where the top curve of my old stomach use to be. It really hurts when I move around and just takes my breath away. Is this normal surgical pain? It is sort of between two of my incision sites.

I have that pain too but I think mine was due to the drain I had. But I do have a pain in my upper left side of my back that has been nagging me since surgery. I am fine with taking regular Tylenol now with exception of at night.

I had it too. For me it stopped on day 7. I think it had something to do with my menstrual cycle, weirdly.

Please call your surgeon asap! Sounds like it could be a blood clot on your lung. You need to get it checked out immediatly because they can be fatal. Even if its nothing you should call your surgeon emergency number to get his advise. Please do it quick and let me know what he says. I don't want to alarm you but its a serious side effect.

I too have had this after my sleeve, it last about 2 weeks but got better day by day... I have also had a PE ( blood clot in the lung a few years back) If you are expericing short of breath, not able to walk any distants, fever and alot of constant pain, then for sure call your doctor.

It has eased some when I stand up very straight, I don't really have trouble breathing, not coughing, and no fever. I have had lots of heprin for thinning blood and am walking to prevent clots. I have had this same pain since surgery but just thought it was gas. Releasing gas does help some but it is the only gas or whatever pain I have left. After reading your reply I did check out pulmonary embolisms and I don't think that is what it is. If it doesn't improve in the nrxt day or two, I will call my doctor. Thank you so much.

That's a relief! I woulnt take any chances when it comes to that. I lost my husband at the end of jan. He was 31 and thought he just had a chest cold and by the time he went to get it checked out it was too late and he died a few hours later from pnemnia.

I am so sorry about your husband. Pneumonia is one of those things that really can slip up on us, especially older and younger. Real shock at 31. So sorry. Thank you for your posts. They did make me do some research on blood clots and really pay attention to what I was feeling.
