    Default Made Myself Sick :-(

Ohhh I feel so yucky. I decided to try just a spoonful of creamy peanut butter tonight just so I could get a little protein. I haven't been getting any calories in so I didn't figure it would matter that it's high in fat and calories. Evidently my tummy had another opinion. I only got in a few licks before my heart began to pound and I started feeling faint. Then I started vomiting. I don't know if it was the fat content or perhaps the sugar but something made it too rich for me. Big mistake. I won't do that again.

Yep, peanut butter takes awhile... high fat, sticky, plus the whole nut thing -- and your tummy freaked out on you in shock :-)
Try fat free sugar free pudding. Make it extra thick and it's almost like chewing. Still get some protein too. :-)
I also "cheated" with frozen greek yogurt bars 3 weeks out -- melts in your mouth so it was liquid when it hit my stomach, but really felt like real food when eating it. :-)
the soft food phase was definitely the hardest for me!

It is such a learning process. I am lucky my tummy like almost everything or maybe that is bad. Only vomited once and that was from a deep fried breaded chicken strip. Now I know my tummy doesn't like grease. We all have to live and learn. Hope you are feeling better now.

I've had a similar reaction (except diarrhoea instead of vomiting) to a couple of things - first time was salmon, I assume it was the relativley high fat content. But I've eaten salmon fine since then. You may well be able to eat peanut butter in the future, just not yet. The other thing is you could blitz it into a smoothie and try it rather than having it concentrated.

I am better now thank you. I will be more careful from now on. I think I will try some pureed soup from a favorite restaurant. It has chicken and veggies and I can make it as thick or runny as I like.

Some folks do dump with the sleeve, especially early on...with high fat or sugary foods.
The sleeve can be a tough teacher! And erratic. Sometimes you can eat something for weeks and then wham it bothers you.
    It's quite a ride...hang in there!
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.

If you try PB, try the natural PB next time (wait a couple of weeks).

I've been putting PB2 (powdered peanut butter) in my shakes with absolutely no issues at all. Of course, WAY less fat and sugar than regular, but it tastes exactly the same!

Try that for a little extra protein and peanut butter taste.

It must be make myself sick day.....
Today is 4 weeks exactly. I made chicken soup, and decided I should try some of the chicken because it was so soft and so moist.
So I ate some. And it was dry, so I washed it down with some yogurt.
And the yogurt came back up. First time I threw up....I hope it's the last.
On a lighter note ? no pun intended...well, maybe yeah: I am down 22 lbs. And I can feel it!
I'm not losing as fast as I'd hoped, but it's coming off. And except for not eating chicken ever again, I feel pretty good.

Oh I wouldn't give up on chicken, hon. Just wait awhile. Perhaps it was the mix of solid and liquid. The soup may have washed the chunkier chicken into your intestines too fast (dumping syndrome) and made you sick. Perhaps if you had pureed the whole thing together?
