Artificial Sweeteners... Issues?

I have never been big on artificial sweeteners. Previous to my sleeve- I never really used them. I became diabetic during pregnancy in 2011 and I could not tolerate it at all- and a nutritionist told me they simply are not good for us.

Here is my question, do they bother any of you? Since my surgery date- I have had a headache more than I have not. At first I thought it was because I take in very little carbohydrate. I had been on the Atkins diet and I remember those- and I know they dont last over a month. I know Im not dehydrated, I have no problem getting in more than the required amount of water per day. I take all my supplements.

I drink some crystal light, sugar free popcicles and pudding. I have at least one of those choices every day. Im convinced its the splenda and/or the aspartame.

I have recently detoxed from the artificial sweetners... My head hurt for about 3 days.. .I have been using Truvia... Crystal Lite Pure has either Stevia or Truvia...and it is pretty good if you add an extra pack of Truvia... I tried Stevia, but found that it had a really "weird" taste....

I get headaches from aspartame and stevia. Sweet and Low gives me a really bad one. None of them used to until i was using them for awhile. Sometimes I get one if i have too much splenda. I don't think that any are good for you.

I get headaches from any art sweetener but stevia and sweet n low.
I think like anything else it's pretty individual.

I didn't know about this problem with artificial sweetners, but in our group session we discussed them and were told that they cause bloating and gas.

I'm 3 days post op and they are giving me crazy diahrhea. So I am going to cut the artificial sugar use in half..I think real sugar gets a bad rap..but in very small quantities will be better for me in the long run

Artificial sweetners hurt my new tummy. I cant have anything except for sf popsicles.
