I'm not so much worried as curious. What are some things I will never be able to eat again?
I haven't had the surgery yet (planning for October per my insurance), but a few friends of mine said everyone is different. Some can eat pasta, some can't because of how the carb expands. I've heard carbonation is a no-no because of the gas, so I only drink Crystal Light for most of my liquid intake. I'm curious at what other's have experienced as well.

Its a personal experience apparently. Soda CAN be re-introduced 6-12 months out I hear but only sparingly as it encourages old/bad behaviours. Some can't tolerate milk products post-op. I have read lots of people eat anything that they could pre-op, just in smaller doses
Straight forward. Straight facts. Whether you like the truth or not... I'm not made of sugar coating

I've been able to eat/drink anything I want. Soda? No problem, just don't drink it fast. Beer? Same. Popcorn? Apples? Nuts? Salads? Steaks? No problem... and NEVER any heartburn.
So for me, there are no restrictions in term of WHAT I can eat. The quantity is restricted, which is a wonderful thing.

Johnny , that sounds so promising at this stage
I am in the same boat as Johnny. I can eat/drink anything. Spicy foods included. No heartburn over here either, which is awesome bc I used to get it regularly Pre-surgery. They key which we are supposed to learn is moderation is everything. Alsoa piece of helpful insight that was given to me, that has helped me a lot,is to never deprive yourself when you get a craving. If you are craving something, go ahead and get a little bit. Reason being that the more you resist rhe craving and the longer you have it, the more likely you are to over indulge when you do give in...and YOU WILL GIVE IN at some point. So go ahead and nip it in the butt with an acceptable amoun instead of regretting eating way more than you should have..
