    Default Eating Corn?

I'm still on liquids but I think I'll be transitioning to solids sooner than I expected (I've been on it for 6 weeks but I'm starting to feel kind of sick) I might finish week 7 or maybe even go to 8 but once 8 is done I'll be starting my mushy food! Anyway, I have been craving corn like crazy, I know is full of carbs and not a "good food" but are we allowed to eat it? I know it doesn't digest too well.

I wouldn't at first. Stick with proteins, you have to change your mindset.
Once you're to the point of dense protein, you can add it in - but you have to think
Protein and fluid for the first several months.
    You can do it!

Hi there, I am still not sure why in the US patients are kept on liquid and soft diets for so long. I can tell you that I was eating well chewed, solid foods from the first week and haven't looked back since. This was prescribed by my doctors. Now at five weeks out, I eat absolutely anything I want. Of course common sense is necessary, and high protein is a must, but I eat whatever my family eats, just extremely small portions. I have eaten corn in a taco salad with no repurcussions, but the amount was probably a teaspoon. I love this because I can eat normal food, just like anyone else, and just have to take very small bites, chew very thoroughly, and eat very very slowly. After a lifetime of fad diets, this is awesome! Of course I do concentrate on protein, and I admit I eat very few carbs, but sometimes I do just have to have a taste. The difference now is that instead of eating a half box of cheezits, I eat about six, and that satisfies me! So, to answer your question, yes I have eaten corn, and it was fine. I would recommend trying a teaspoonful, and eating it just kernal by kernal. But that is just me.... good luck on your journey!

When you start eating food and not just liquid it will be alright to have a couple of bites of corn. But being it is not digested easily and is loaded with carbs I would definitely limit the amount and frequency of eating it. But we didn't get the sleeve surgery so we could totally deprive ourselves of everything we love. We got the sleeve so we could learn moderation and making healthy choices.

Thanks guys! It's funny cause usually I wouldn't eat corn LOL But for some reason I've been having a strong craving for it. Oh and swissmiss, I was only instructed to do 3 weeks of liquids. I just did the rest by my choice so I could lose some more weight =)

Well, Danny -- I had some corn this past week and then used the leftovers in a Shepard's Pie -- it really tasted good, but I had about 10 kernels! It is amazing how when we crave something that a little goes a long, long way in making us happy! My kids were grateful for a change from broccoli!
