I have been seeing most peoples goal weights and i was wondering how did you all pick your goal weight? Mine is based on a theory that someone my height, 5'6, would still look healthy and not too thin at that weight. What about you?
I'm 5'7", and I looked back through pictures of myself at different times, and I guess just picked the one that I liked. It has to be a goal that is realistic AND sustainable in your everyday life. I 100% disagree with those BMI charts that tell you how much you should weigh. I want to keep a womanly figure and be comfortable with my body. That's why I chose 180 lbs. if I get there and still want to lose more, I can.
I would give yourself mini goals along the way, rather than just one big final weigh to strive for.
@BigMomDog, trust and believe you will hit your 180 and reset it! I'm telling you, I believe you'll be around 145-150..what ever you want. That's if you exercise. My sister is shorter than me...maybe 5'4 she though her goal weight was only going to be 160...she's already hit it and hasn't even worked out. She has lost over 70 lbs in 5 months. She now has a personal trainer, so I know her numbers (body fat percentage, water percentage, muscle mass) will all change. I lose 2 lbs every Friday night when I take my strength/conditioning/sparring/BJJ class (2 hours). I know I'll hit my goal, it will just be a matter of time.
i really don't know how it works but i had heard, if you r 5' tall you should be 100 lbs and for every inch over add 5 lbs. so 5'6' would be like 130 lbs i don't know what ever u feel is good for u... 130 seems pretty low for 5'6 but its up to u how u look and feel..
I don't actually want to be that small. Went I got out of boot camp (I was in the Navy for 8 years), I weighed 138 and I looked like a little boy. I did not like it at all. Thanks for the motivation! I'll figure out what the right # is for me now. I'm not able to go hit the gym hard like I did back then. But it'll work itself out, one way or another.
