Thinking about changing Doc...

Hello I am pretty new to this site but I have read though so many of your posts I feel like I have been on here for months. Today I started reading in areas on the site I had not been and started to second guess my surgeon. I'm up and down about the entire experiance one day I am so happy and can't wait for the day and the next I feel like I need to start all over and choose a new surgeon any suggestions??? If you went to someone in mexico and self paid please give me your input. Also how did you choose them do they have a website that shows price and explains the surgery?

I chose Dr Sergio Quinones because he works in a hospital and was the chief of surgery for quite a time. I think the process he's set up is excellent and so is the price. They pick you up from San Diego, take you over to Tijuana, not to a clinic, to a proper full scale medical hospital, you do the bloods, then the surgery, they keep you there for 2 days and then they put you up in a nearby hotel. Then the next day they drive you back to the San Diego airport. As far as I know he hasn't had any leaks or other negatives.
I know your Dr is quite popular too. I don't know much about him or where he operates. I have my surgery on Saturday, I didn't give myself much time to think between when I booked it and when the surgery was. I didn't want to have time to over think things or let my nerves and fear give me second thoughts.

@NEWLIFE4ME,I did the same thing i had choose Dr.Almanza.but,so many different opinions bout him so then i did my own research and found some bad things out bout him.use your own judgement u do whats wright for u.i changed to Dr.Q because i felt he was better suited for the job he only do 4 surgery in a day( his staff is so caring and understanding) verses 14 surgery a day.Talk to India or Henry they will be happy to help u..i will be starting my MARCH 11,2013...LORD KMOWS I CANT WAIT HE WILL SEE ME THREW EVERYTHING EVERY STEP OF THE WAY....

I would also suggest Dr. Q! I was considering Almanza at first, but after joining the Dr Q group and being a part of it, it seems like Dr. Almanza's patients feel like a number, and Dr. Q's patients feel "special". I'm getting sleeved on March 1st and I'm super excited! Hope you get the info you need!

Hi Dr Almanza did my surgery in Mexico and although he is a good surgeon and I didn't have any complications with the surgery, I would not go
back to his clinic he does too many surgeries and did not have enough beds to accomodate all the patients. I was moved twice the day of surgery
and not just to a different bed to a different clinic first then to the hotel! If I were to do it again I would go to a hosp and not a clinic..Out of the 4 in my group 3 of us got infections in our incisions. Good luck on your decision and surgery!! It is worth it!!

I have only heard one patient complain of feeling like they are just a number. I was encouraged by the fact that he does so many surgeries. Practice makes perfect! I have just Re-booked my surgery with Dr. Almanza. I would like to hear of any serious problems that may ha e come up under his care if any knows of someone that has had a problem or complication. By the way, Dr. Almanza has had no fatalities either, that I am aware of.

Congrats on you rebooking with Dr Amanza, if you feel that he is the right surgeon for you. I also was going to use Dr Almanza but as I did more research I didnt feel that he would not be the right surgeon for me. I am sure that Dr Almanza is a good surgeron but I for one didnt care that there have been days that he has done as many as 11 surgeries in one day. I also wanted to be in a hospital setting not a clinic. I did not want to share a recovery room with another person. I did not want to share a hotel room with someone I didnt know postop. I did not want to be moved to a hotel less than 24 hrs postop. I did not want to be moved 2 or 3 times in a van from the hotel back to the clinic for IV's, leak test ect... But that is how I FEEL. For the reasons listed above and a few others I am very happy I was sleeved 6 days ago with Dr. Sergio Quinones.

Marty have heard several people say he booked 10 to 13 people,just my opinion that 13 is too many when you only have 10 beds.
Am entitled to have one of those!
