Sooooo hungry

Oh my gosh, I'm 7 days post op and I have never been so hungry in my life. Everyone keeps telling me it's not possible but it is HUNGER. My doc says I'm in the semi-solid phase so please tell me some ideas for some real foods, in mush form, that might curb this hunger. Sometimes it feels like I didn't change my stomach at all...except I can't eat alot at one time but i feel like I'm going to starve to death. someone please tell me this will go away????

Do you think it might be mental? I nervouse about being hungry too but they say your appetite goes away in three days anyway....even if you haven't been sleeved. I am so curious about this!! Hopefully someone gives us advice.

No, I wasn't even this hungry before surgery. I get shaky, light headed - my stomach growls even while I'm eating! Everyone says it's stomach acid but I'm taking an acid reducer and it does not help. I am nervous too because I can not imagine being like this for the rest of my life. Out of all the things I was expecting, HUNGER pains was not one of them. I'm ravenous - even in my sleep, the hunger cramps wake me up.

oh noo.....I hope they go away soon!!!! I was told you cannot get hungry...maybe they lied to make us think we would not get hungry. Other than that are you feeling ok?

I KNOW. I've done some research and on some other blogs there are groups called 'Hungry Sleevers' - some people say they are a year out and still feel it. I HOPE I AM not one of those!! I do feel really good. Apparently I am allergic to all pain medicine so since a few hours after surgery I have gone without pain medicine and was violently throwing up for a full day but once the vomiting stopped and the pain medicine was out, my body was able to settle down. I get tired a little bit and have to remind myself that I had major surgery, but all in all I feel fine. I have lost 19 lbs but that includes 6 in the 2 week pre op diet, which was not an all liquid diet but more a high protein diet. SO that is exciting - I'm not sure it takes the place of the constant hunger pains... ) Are you excited for your surgery?

Sometimes I feel hungry and have to ask myself if I am REALLY hungry and usually I am not. For the most part I get weak and know its time to eat something or should I say drink something....

i will be 2 months post op on the 29th and i felt the same exact way, my hunger feeling has NOT gone away, and i was to the point where i was regretting being sleeved,i still have alot of the hunger feeling this far out, i just try to make sure i'm getting in my protein and my fluids , i feel like i'm eating all day long because of this hunger feeling. it has gotten a little better in the last week or so... good luck to you !!!

Not to that degree, but yes I have had actual hunger pangs. Apparently its a little different now, I was one of the ones saying if u stay low carb u won't be hungry. That used to be true, I'm very curious about this myself. At first I thought it might be bc I was nibbling to ease the nausea but I'm still far from 20 carbs so what gives? I've still lost 13 lbs but praying for a better 2nd week.

I had my first signs of hunger pangs last night. I basically satisfied myself with a fruit popcicle. I went to sleep and woke up feeling great. I lost even more weight too! My weight loss is u to 20 lbs.

It definitely seems like that we the hungry are the small percentage. I think something is wrong with my sleeve. I am able to eat and drink and I'm always hungry. I am certainly not the norm. I am 8 days post op and this morning ate a scrambled egg and a 4oz yogurt. I try not to drink at the same time but I could easily and I can eat all this in 5 minutes or so. I called my doctor yesterday and they want me to keep a food journal. I have lost 19.5 lbs but nothing in the last day or 2. I'm going to be really disappointed if I went through all of this for nothing.

They say that the liquid will wash the solids out of the stomach and can cause stretching...I am no doctor though! )

We had our surgery on the same day? How are you doing? Can you eat like me? How much weight have you lost from just the surgery?

How much water/fluid are you taking in during the day? Are you getting enough protein? Can you eat scrambled eggs or oatmeal yet?
