Default Not sleeve related but....Prayers are needed!

I am nearly the opposite of a religious person, but these families deserve prayers if there is a higher being. 18 children and 9 teachers and staff were killed in a Connecticut elementary school shooting today. How anyone could be so cruel and sick is beyond me. As a mother of two young kids, I can't even imagine how these parents and families are feeling right now. I am so overwhelmed by sadness. I think I will go pick my 6-year-old daughter up from school so I can just hold her tight. It's times like this that we are reminded to cherish each moment with the ones we love.

I live 20 minutes from the school and as a teacher have many friends and former co-workers that have connections to the school. I interviewed there two years ago. Its all very scary and surreal.

My heart goes out to all of those who suffered losses today in Newtown, Connecticut. As a parent, I can't imagine that kind of ultimate pain of losing a child. God, please be with all of them- wrap them in Your loving arms as they grieve, let them feel Your comforting presence, love, and strength. I don't even know what to pray for God, but You know all of the victims and their needs and I know You are with them now.

So many insane things are going on in this world that at times it makes you wonder how a true and loving God could let things like this happen. But still I pray for all the families who were touched by this tragedy and may they somehow find solace in the future.

Such a sad, sad day! No words can express how I feel today. Lots of prayers for all affected by this horrible tragic event. I couldn't wait for school to end today, I had to go early, hug my child and then wait again for school to end. So many parents at pickup today. I think the whole nation is mourning today.

It broke my heart to know what happened. Prayers to all if the families of the victims and all of the children and staff who had to witness the massacre. The moment I saw my children today I had a major break down. I couldn't stop crying. I don't think there can be a bigger hurt than losing you child especially in a case like this. It makes me feel childish for the stupid stuff I complain about.

This was just awful. Just as you have put it. I can't understand the minds of those who take on their own to do something like this. Yet my heart goes out to all of those who were involved.

It's one thing to take your own life but to take innocent people along with you is really really wrong. People are just getting crazier and the crimes are starting to become more intense. My prayers go to the families and victims. Definitely a sad sad day

Shannon so glad you are ok. I was thinking of you yesterday, knowing you are in the area, and unable to get back here til today. I have so much family in CT and at first I didn't know which town....
Those babies were everyone's yesterday, so many tears, so much wondering....why? With my daughter, son in law, nephew, and future niece-in-law all teachers and my other daughter a frequent helper in the classroom - the adults were also in my thoughts. They were not children...but they were still someone's babies. And heroes. They were heroes.
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.
