Well a lot of you know i was on high dose prednisone, and they weaned me off it this past week...i had gained a total of 6 pounds on the crap.
GREAT NEWS. i lost a pound every day since then, and then one additional for good measure, my ticker is now correct and i got to lower it to 216...it feels SO good. I knew it would be temporary but it was just devastating to see the scale INCREASE after all i had done. Now back losing and looking forward to reaching onderland by the second week of january.

Pounds LOST since surgery 111
Finally reached Onderland 3/1/2013
Height 5'3" Small frame
Starting BMI day of surgery : 45.7 MORBIDLY OBESE CLASS 3
BMI current 26.0 OVERWEIGHT
my first goal is to get to 141pounds, that will put me in the NORMAL range bmi. My second goal is 120, which is thin and healthy.

Yay for you! I weaned off this week too, thank goodness! I gained 7 and only lost 2 but I lost 5lbs the week before I started prednisone so I'm kinda back where I started. I refuse to ever take that crap again unless I'm dying, lol!

Prednisone is a corticosteroid.

It's a steroid that is not addictive...but is dangerous to stop suddenly. it's used for chest infections especially ...because it helps the lungs heal. its used for arthritis and a dozen other things as well, but in my case was for lung issues. i was on extremely high dosage...20mg twice daily for a week. they had tried lower amounts but it did not work, they wanted to do it in the hospital intraveinously but i said no. Glad you feel better prednisone works well but not a fun side effect of weight gain
