Hello from Down Under

Just thought I would drop in and say hello. Im scheduled for my sleeve on 16 January 2013 so not long to go now ! Ive been yo yoing for many years now. The lowest I have been is 57kg and the highest 120 kg. I have 5 bags of clothes in my cupboards in various sizes. I also suffer from nasty fibromyalgia which is made far worse by the excess weight. I hope the surgery will give me my life back and I can ride my horses again and enjoy life. My surgeon is well respected here in QLD and come highly recommended. Count down is starting !

Good day and welcome! You are in good company and starting a great adventure. I didn't know about the site until after my surgery, but it has been like a lifeline at times. Plenty of advice/suggestions and lots of cheerleaders when we need it! Won't 2013 be grand!

Welcome to the forum and best wishes on your upcoming surgery. My daughter is a registered nurse and works in a mental hospital. She is always telling me that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I'm glad you and I decided to stop yo yoing so we can get a different result this time. Congratulations on starting the journey to a new you.

Hi, good luck with your journey. I have got to say, it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Today when I was out and about, a friend walked straight past me to say hello to another, it took her a few minutes then stared at me. A shriek followed and she screamed "LOOK AT YOU! You look beautiful! you have lost sooo much weight! I didn't recognize you!"

That moment today 3 months and 1 week since surgery, I knew, no matter what it was all worth it.
I just feel so healthy, so alive, so confident. It changes you in so many ways and all positives!
Just like you, I will ride again, dance again, run again, and most of all sleep well, and live....
