    Default Hair Extensions

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has gotten hair extensions because of hair loss? I am 1 year out and I use to have the most thickest curliest hair ever. Now it is so short, thin, barley can keep it in with a pony tail holder. Does anyone know if ur hair can be to thin to get extensions? I really miss my hair and never thought it would fall out this much.

Mine has also thinned greatly but I cannot imagine getting extensions because it's still coming out but not as bad. I am hoping it will start regrowth at 10-12 months post-op.

I am wondering are you both taking B12? It has to be in either liquid form or nasal spray and you have to take for the rest of your life!

I also wondered about hair extensions...the clip on ones though, not the sewn or glued ones, those would be worse for our thinning hair.

Have you had recent bloodwork? I had massive hair loss... massive.. but it stopped around 7-8 months and is now regrowing super thick again. I started out with too thick hair, but that is another story.... My NUT told me that hair loss/thin hair more then a year post op is usually a nutrient issue.

I wonder...if extra nutrients will help hair loss and Im sure you guys all take them as your supose too....is it just a body absorption issue? My hair is falling out post baby as I was expecting....my surgery should be around the corner....so this time next year Ill be bald? Ill take vitamins in the form of a daily shot if I have too....

I was sleeved November 2011 and within about 3 months my hair REALLY started to thin. I seemed to loose handfuls every time I shampooed, or brushed. Started taking Biotin right away, saw a dermatologist who said I could try Rogaine for women (didn't use it very long as it is messy and not condusive to styling your hair for work each morning), finally asked my little hairdresser about extensions. There is a new kind that they "tape" in with sort of like back to back sticky tape, so I had her get me some and put them in and I LOVE THEM!!!!! They stay put even through shampooing for up to 2 months, if one comes out it's a simple thing to just replace the "tape" and put it back in. I bought 18" ones so now I look like I have hair all the way down my back and it's REAL hair, thick, washable, stylable, colorable...whatever. My husband loves it so much he'll probably never let me go back to my own hair - ha! My hairdresser tells me that my own hair is beginning to grow back (the new growth is about 2 inches long right now, and she tells me it's coming back in quite curly! I didn't really go bald or anything but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my extensions! I'm going to try to change my profile picutre to a new one my husband and I had taken before Thanksgiving showing not only my new thinness but also my long hair. Just go for it! We're worth it!!!
